🍎 IF I EVER TAUGHT YOU OR YOUR CHILD...
For Teacher Appreciation Week, I'd love for my former students/parents to REPLY to this post and tell me how you/your child is doing and what you/your child is doing (school, sports, family, etc..)! Or feel free to share a funny story or memory from our time together! I have been teaching Kindermusik for 23 years so hopefully I will hear from some of you!🤞
(Steal this, teachers! I have seen very cool stuff posted!) 🍎😊

Come join us! Classes for newborns through 5 years.
Kindermusik classes are full of fun activities that help boost developmental skills like inhibitory control (the ability to stop and wait) and balance.

This is an activity that teaches self control. A child listens to the music, stops their own movement when they hear the music stop. Listening skills are also developing. Learning through play!
Freeze dance is an easy way to jumpstart inhibitory control with older toddlers, and it's just the tip of the iceberg! Musical cues travel from our ears to our brains to our bodies to our emotions.
Today's Parent
All Kindermusik with Ellen classes will be cancelled on Monday, Jan. 26 due to inclimate weather. Stay home, be safe and warm... no slip-sliding away! See you next week.
Today the toddler class learned about guiros. They listened about the instrument coming from gourds in South America. They enjoyed hearing the sound by scraping the stick over the various sized grooves.
After the kiddos had their voices do a glissando, followed by their hands and bodies moving up and down, and listening to a slide whistle, we got to move the slide on my trombone. Children learn and retain when they participate in movement while learning. Hopefully they will remember this day and some will try a trombone in the fifth grade when asked what they would like to play in band.
Learning about glissandos mean we get to experience a slide whistle! That always is FUN!

Today in Kindermusik we learned about glissandos. We made our voices and bodies move up and down, then the kiddos experienced a slide whistle followed by the slide trombone. Trombone day is always a crowd-pleaser.

There's a reason you feel so motivated after listening to a favorite song. Adding music to your child's daily routines can help!
