We’ve got spirit, how ‘bout YOU?!?!

The High School Bulldogs at SICS recently had spirit week with the greatest participation that we can remember!

Some students were surveyed with a question of the week and it looks like “Anything But A Backpack” was the clear winner!

Thanks to the slc_sics for the great pics and an incredible spirit week!

Congratulations to this week's BULLDOG STRONG winner who will have the privilege of parking in the special red bulldog parking spot for the week!

Submitted by Dan Sullivan, who submitted Aaron Taylor, stating” Mr. Taylor embodies what it means to be Bulldog Strong. The consummate team member, Mr. Taylor consistently goes beyond expectations and supports student learning and growth outside of his general day-to-day duties. Whether cleaning up the cafe after morning entry or taking pictures at our school events, Aaron is always the first to offer a helping hand. He supports all learners here at SICS and does so with infectious energy and a positive attitude. Thank you, Mr. Taylor!”

Congratulations!

Congratulations to this week's BULLDOG STRONG winners who will have the privilege of parking in the special red bulldog parking spot for the week!

Submitted by Kate Madrak: “Aimee MacDonald has shown accountability throughout professional learning sessions this school year. Aimee arrives on time, is engaged, and is receptive to feedback. This is an example of Bulldog Strong!"

Submitted by Cindy Miller: "I nominate Ms. Floyd because she truly embodies what it means to be Bulldog Strong. She has taken it upon herself to build meaningful connections with students, particularly those who may not yet feel like they have “their person” at SICS. She makes students feel seen, supported, and valued and consistently creates a positive and welcoming environment.

Ms. Floyd is also a supportive and dependable member of her team. She steps in when needed, works collaboratively with others, and approaches challenges with patience and perseverance. Her willingness to go beyond her assigned responsibilities to make sure students feel connected and supported demonstrates both accountability and a genuine commitment to our school community.

Ms. Floyd sets a positive tone for those around her, and her daily actions are a wonderful example of Success Through Accountability and Perseverance. She is truly Bulldog Strong!"

Each week, faculty and staff are invited to nominate a colleague for demonstrating that they are Bulldog Strong. The nominee will receive an award as well as the privilege of parking in the special red bulldog parking spot for the week.

Congrats to our week 5 nominees: Mr. Boyd and Katherine Madrak!

(Submitted by Jesus Sanchez) "Mr. Boyd (HS SSI) is new to our school but that has not stopped him from making an immediate impact on our students. Mr. Boyd has made a point of working with some of our tier 3 students and it has already paid dividends in the early stages of term one. Mr. Boyd has been a great addition to our school's community. “

(Anonymous Submission) "Katherine Madrak (K-5 Curriculum Coordinator) has worked hard to develop processes and systems to help teachers with planning and delivering instruction. She firmly believes that all students can succeed with the right support in place. Kate is readily available to answer questions and if she does not have an answer, she is sure to get one! Her dedication to her practice and helping others is a perfect example of Bulldog Strong! “
