🏀🐆 A season to remember for the Leopards! 🐆🏀

Last night, our 7th grade boys basketball team was recognized at the Board of Education meeting for their incredible 2nd place finish in the IESA 3A 7th Grade Boys Basketball State Championship!

What an accomplishment. What a team. What a season!

Congratulations to our 8th graders!!! Our families and friends showed out to support our Leopards this week for their 8th grade night!

Let’s give a big congratulations to your IESA Girls 8th grade 3A Champions!!!

Our 8th grade girls basketball team is headed to STATE!

We’re sending the BIGGEST burst of love, luck, and Leopard pride to our incredible team as they gear up to shine on the state stage. What a tremendous season it’s been—hard work, teamwork, grit, and a whole lot of heart.

They’ll hit the court Saturday, December 13 at 2:30 p.m. as Springfield Lincoln faces Manteno … and you already know we’ll be cheering loud enough to shake the rafters!

Application for enrollment in Lincoln Magnet School for the 2026-2027 school year is open. Applications are due by 3:30 p.m. on November 14, 2025.

The application was mailed to current District 186 fifth graders to the address on file.

Siblings of current 6th and 7th grade LMS students will get in automatically, if an application is sent in by the November 14th deadline.

If we have more applications than available seats, we hold a student selection lottery. We have had to hold a lottery each of our 24 years as a magnet school.

* Applications to LMS for students entering the lottery after the deadline in grades 6, 7 and 8 will be accepted. However, those students will be placed at the end of the wait list.

Our Online Application is a PDF File (posted October, 2025). You may print out and complete the form. Return the completed form to Lincoln Magnet School by November 14, 2025.
