Principal Heyen Represents Springfield Public Schools - District 186 at Global Apple Education Leadership Summit
Lincoln Magnet School Principal, Nichole Heyen, was invited to attend the Apple Global Education Leadership Summit in Worcester, England.
This prestigious invitation brought together approximately 250 educational leaders from 26 countries, representing many of the world's most innovative schools and educational institutions. Throughout the summit, participants collaborated, explored emerging technologies, exchanged best practices, and developed global partnerships that will positively impact teaching and learning for years to come.
As Principal of Lincoln Magnet School—an internationally recognized Apple Distinguished School—Mrs. Heyen joined fellow educational leaders in exploring Apple's newest innovations in education, building partnerships with educators around the world, and identifying new ways to create authentic learning experiences for students.
The summit resulted in exciting opportunities that will directly benefit Lincoln Magnet School and Springfield Public Schools, including:
- Access to Apple's newest educational innovations and learning experiences.
- A new Global Collaboration Day empathy project connecting students with classrooms in five countries.
- A developing partnership with Mathematics researchers at Stanford University.
- New learning inspired by accessibility advocate Rory, whose message aligns with Lincoln Magnet School's commitment to designing learning experiences where every student can succeed.
These experiences build upon Lincoln Magnet School's tradition of innovation. Last year, students connected directly with astronauts aboard the International Space Station through the school's ARISS Direct Contact, reaching audiences in 25 countries while celebrating 25 years of Lincoln Magnet School.
As Apple celebrates 30 years of Apple Distinguished Schools, Lincoln Magnet School also looks ahead to honoring the visionaries who founded the school nearly three decades ago. Their commitment to innovation, creativity, and student-centered learning continues to inspire new generations of learners.
