The team had a good weekend at Marshfield! We took more first time competitors who continue to learn a lot and that is always good! Even better when some of them end up bringing home some hardware! The following students deserve extra congratulations:

Had a good weekend at Willard and Hillcrest. Our team competed with 34 other schools, so this was a large and highly competitive tournament! Took some novices who hadn’t competed yet and they learned a lot. This is going to be a good year, I can just tell! Congratulations to our top finishers:

Took a few students to the GDA/MSU tournament this weekend. While this was the first tournament of the year for us, several of these kids competed for their very first time and the hard work they’ve been doing paid off!

We’ve had an exciting week here in Des Moines. Mason broke out of prelims in both events. Grace competed well and learned a lot. Levi debated 12 rounds and ended up in the top 13 in the Nation! To watch him receive his trophy on the national stage at noon today, tune in to the live stream.

This weekend, we had three competitors in the Class 2 MSHSSA State Speech and Debate Tournament-Lincoln Douglas Debate, Prose, US Extemp, and Radio Speaking. They all did well. We are proud to announce that we have a MSHSSA Class 2 State Runner-up in United States Extemporaneous Speaking! Levi De Angelis placed 2nd in State! So proud of these kids!

These past few days, some of the kids on the team competed in the NDSA District National Qualifying Tournament at Gloria Deo Academy in Springfield. It was a challenging three days of competition and in the end we brought home 2 qualifiers: Grace Law in Big Questions Debate and Levi DeAngelis in Lincoln Douglas Debate. This will be Grace’s first year at Nationals and Levi’s 4th! Qualifying all 4 years of high school is a huge accomplishment!
There is still one more qualifying tournament in April.

Took these six kids to Hickman High School for the CMAC Conference Tournament and they stepped up their game! We have two conference finalists and a champion! Congratulations to Ethan Cody, finalist in Radio Speaking and Mason Long, finalist in United States Extemporaneous Speaking. Levi DeAngelis is the CMAC Conference Champion in Lincoln Douglas Debate and United States Extemporaneous Speaking! So proud of their hard work. On to Springfield Catholic this weekend.
