Due to weather, schools will be closed Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, and there will be no after school activities. SPS Student Assignment Services and Central Office will be closed on Monday.

Dear Balliet Preschool Community,
Our school family is experiencing a profound moment of loss and challenge. A member of our community has suffered a devastating house fire and the tragic loss of a loved one. During this difficult time, we are reaching out to support and stand together.

For those who are able and wish to help, we have a fundraising link available to provide meaningful assistance to the affected family. Any form of support - financial or through compassionate gestures - can make a significant difference during this painful period.

To celebrate “Dream Week,” Balliet Preschool welcomed several of Springfield’s local heroes!

Our special visitors shared insights about their job roles, the skills needed to get there, and their passion for helping others and saving lives. Our learners have been over the moon with excitement, dreaming about the possibilities for their own futures and the many ways they can give back to their community when their turn comes!

We’ve shared a truly magical week filled with wonderful memories in the Balliet Preschool community!

The week was kicked off with our Hispanic Heritage Staff Potluck Celebration and continued with Open House, the Scholastic Book Fair, with a special visit from our local friends of the Springfield City Library, the Gandara Center and the Koqui Food Truck.

We also welcomed our first round of Read Aloud visitors, making the week even more special!

We believe in the future of all our learners!

A huge thank-you to everyone who participated, especially to our amazing school staff who made it all possible.

La semana comenzó con nuestra celebración compartida del personal de la Herencia Hispana y continuó con la jornada de puertas abiertas, la Feria del Libro Scholastic, con una visita especial de nuestros amigos locales de las Bibliotecas de la Ciudad de Springfield, el Centro Gándara y el Camión de Comida Koqui.

Dear Balliet Preschool Families,

We are excited to announce Balliet Preschool will be celebrating Grandparents Day with a special schoolwide event!

Each student may invite ONE grandparent to join them during their classroom’s special time. The event will begin with the story Mimi & Poppy Bake Cookies, followed by a fun cookie-decorating activity for students and their Grandparent to enjoy together. 🍪

All classrooms will be provided with cookies, frosting, and sprinkles—enough for each student and their plus one. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our little learners to share special moments and create lasting memories with their loved ones.

We look forward to celebrating this meaningful day with you!
