Itty Bitty Ball is a fun and active local program through the South End Community Center where little kids can build confidence, teamwork, and basketball skills while making new friends. Growing up in Springfield; the place where basketball was invented makes Bitty Ball an exciting way for children to be part of the city’s rich basketball tradition from an early age!!

At Balliet Preschool, we have so much more than just a principal to appreciate today. Amanda Santana is not only our principal; she is a guiding light, a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, and a voice of reason. She comes to school each day radiating love and kindness and is always looking for ways to support staff, students, and families.
Principal Santana is deeply passionate about education and is constantly seeking new ways to help everyone succeed. She leads with compassion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school community where everyone feels valued and heard. With nearly 18 years of dedicated service to Springfield Public Schools, she brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and heart to everything she does. She is truly one in a million.

Due to weather, schools will be closed Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, and there will be no after school activities. SPS Student Assignment Services and Central Office will be closed on Monday.

Dear Balliet Preschool Community,
Our school family is experiencing a profound moment of loss and challenge. A member of our community has suffered a devastating house fire and the tragic loss of a loved one. During this difficult time, we are reaching out to support and stand together.

For those who are able and wish to help, we have a fundraising link available to provide meaningful assistance to the affected family. Any form of support - financial or through compassionate gestures - can make a significant difference during this painful period.

To celebrate “Dream Week,” Balliet Preschool welcomed several of Springfield’s local heroes!

Our special visitors shared insights about their job roles, the skills needed to get there, and their passion for helping others and saving lives. Our learners have been over the moon with excitement, dreaming about the possibilities for their own futures and the many ways they can give back to their community when their turn comes!
