Springfield First Preschool is a child-led, discovery-based preschool where students will learn important values and lessons that will help them mentally, socially, physically, in order to develop their whole self. We will be using The Creative Curriculum which is aligned to the early learning standards for Illinois. We will also utilize Conscious Discipline strategies to help create an environmen

t where students feel safe, heard, and can grow in their social and emotional skills. Play-based preschools utilize specific developmentally appropriate activities in various interest areas to spark curiosity, and then follow the interest of the child. Springfield First Preschool allows children to learn the way they know best which is through play.

You might ask, "What's an outdoor classroom?" At Springfield First Preschool it's a space where we set up intentional opportunities and spaces and our kids play, learn, and grow outside the entire morning. Not a playground, or just tables set up in the grass. An actual classroom outdoors! Take a peek at what our kids have been up to in the outdoor classroom this spring!
