We are so proud to celebrate our first ever Discovery School at the Center high school graduate and our adorable Science Sprouts Discovery School Pre-K graduates!
Our high school grad Eliana joined us in 8th grade as a quiet, introverted student still figuring out where she fit in the world. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into a kind, confident, and inspiring young mind whose peers look up to her and whose impact can be felt throughout our school community. Beyond being a student, she has helped shape the experiences of our youngest learners through her part-time work with aftercare and after-school clubs. Seeing little ones light up when she walks into the room says everything about the compassion, patience, and leadership she carries with her every day.
At the same time, watching our curious, creative, and energetic Sprouts grow into their little lab coats over the past few years has been such a joy. They’ve asked big questions, made big discoveries, and become more curious and ready to become the next generation of problem solvers. Now they’re more than ready for their next adventure in kindergarten, and we hope one day we’ll be cheering them on at their own high school graduations too.
Being part of a student’s journey from early childhood all the way through high school is something incredibly special. Moments like this remind us exactly why we do what we do.
To all of our graduates: keep exploring, keep questioning, and keep discovering. We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next!

Is Rachael Hyde America's Favorite Teacher?
I 🩷 middle school because it gives me the chance to connect learning to what excites kids and teach them where they are academically!

Our very own Riana Clark is one of Springfield Business Journal's 40 under 40, and we couldn't be more proud! As VP of Education for the Discovery Center, Riana oversees both our formal and informal educational offerings. From writing lessons to obtaining grants to working directly with children, Riana is an essential part of our organization. "I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to be confident and literate in STEM, not only to pursue careers, but to navigate an increasingly complex world with curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence." Congratulations, Riana, we can't wait to see what you do next!

Playground Progress Pic! Because 60,000 square feet of hands on interactive science exhibits combined with every downtown park is better with swings & slides.
