Ruth (Howard) Kaunley will be honored at Evangel University this Friday at 12:30pm as the "Distinguished Alumnus" of the Behavioral and Social Sciences Dept. We appreciate so much her teaching, counseling, ministering to all of us at CBC and beyond. She continues to model a life devoted to Christ, family, and others. This will be held Trask 305. Dr. Debbie Johnson, the BSS Dept Chair, and EU-CBCer invites any of you who are in the area, or attending Homecoming at EU, to feel free to stop by. This will be held in Trask 305 from 12:30-1:15pm.

Brittany Santabene Carter -beloved CBC/EU student, mentoree, & friend - passed from earth to heaven early Sunday morning... (Visitation & funeral on Thurs at 10am at Hope Church).. My heart aches with all those words, while my soul rejoices in her homegoing and relief from the cancer she fought so fiercely these 3 years.... No one expects a terminal illness barely a year out of University... but Brittany took the news & the illness with determination to conquer, to live each day with gratitude, honor God with every breath, and love passionately. Many of you know her & have been touched by her life. You know, that indeed she did all of that - magnificently... She was joyous, kind, unselfish, loyal, & a beautiful reflection of God’s love. She made me laugh so much in & out of the classroom; always an acronym or song or talking me into a beak from intense week class to play a game.. And lunch & coffee after she a grad to talk life...& then that conversation with her & dear Schuyler after the diagnosis to talk about how to now do life... She leaves a hole in so many lives, but she also leaves a legacy of love & pattern to follow... She & husband, Schuyler, showed how to love a lifetime in each day. She & sister Corrine & brother Brandon Johnston, showed how to do family sibling-style. She loved her friend posse with intense loyalty & generosity. And she showed the kids she worked with that each had a bright future ... See, magnificent! 🎉I loved her and you should all come meet her in heaven! 💝😘🙏

So excited about the HEARTSONG 25year Reunion Worship Concert this Fri 8pm at EU Chapel!! Members from different years will be singing. Can't wait to see alumni and worship together!!! Come on out CBCers & EUers!!! 💝😊

We celebrate the life of De Andre', rejoice that he has already begun eternity with Christ, and yet, we mourn his absence among us here... There is no discrepancy between the celebration/rejoicing and the mourning.. They both happen because of love. Jesus showed us that in John 11. Permission to grieve & yet hope! We cannot truly do one, without the other.. We will see De Andre' again & he will hug us all! Praying!!

CBCers, so glad to be part of you! So proud of who you are and what you are doing and are gonna do in the Kingdom of God!! We are CBC!!!! (Study hard! Carpe deum!) :)
