Band Camp Week One has officially started. The kids arrive at 8:00 AM and work on drill outside in the morning and then take it inside for music practice until 4:00 PM. If you want to donate water to these hard working kids, the boosters are accepting donations.

Hi Parents and Community members-
Band camp starts next Monday, 07/27 @ 8:00 AM!!!

The Band Boosters are asking for water and snack donations (granola bars, chips, protein bars- non-candy snacks please.)
They are also looking for pop-up tents for outside shade and box fans for students once inside (the AC is on the fritz.)
Any and all donations are appreciated and can be brought before Monday to the SHS Main Office or directly to the auditorium during camp. Or you can message Lindsay Bock on the SportYou Band App to drop off at her location.
Eventually, they will be reaching out for volunteers to help with uniform dispersal on the app, so stay tuned for that information.
If you have questions, and you are not on the SportsYou Band app, please leave them here and we will do our best to answer them in a timely manner.

Due to the weather forecast tomorrow, we are unfortunately cancelling tomorrow's car wash. It will be rescheduled at a later date, so stay tuned!!

🎶 Shout-out to our outstanding student musicians!
From left to right, congratulations to Gabe Hudson (11th grade), Cecily Benedict (12th grade), and Nick Errico (9th grade) for performing with the AKV Honors Band this Friday!

The event, hosted by Burrell High School, marked the 79th annual festival for the Honors Band. These talented students earned their spots through a two-day audition process, making this an incredibly selective and competitive opportunity.

We are so proud of our SHS music department—your dedication, growth, and passion continue to inspire us all. 🎵 Keep up the amazing work!

This will be the last post for the official Marching Band Season. In this post we see the students warming up before parading down to the field for the game. Our marching band shows up early, tunes and warms up, and runs the show prior to lining up. Their dedication proves itself each week as their show gets stronger every week. Congratulations to all of you and to the staff and boosters who stood beside them and supported them! It was a busy season and we should all be proud of these Dynamic Dynamos!!!

Happy Halloween! The Marching Band lined up and marched down James St. to the Borough Building for Trunk or Treat. And it was a treat to have them play one more parade for the season. Next up, Oakmont's Christmas Parade in November!!

Throw back Thursday: This post goes out to Zander Smith, our Marching Band Manager. Zander is responsible for so much of the behind the scenes work that goes into a successful show. Whether it's an away game, home game, or a competition, Zander is loading and unloading the trailer, keeping track of inventory, hauling the Drum Major stand, and passing out waters and snacks after the half time show. Here he's seen hanging with an employees youngest, keeping him entertained. Thanks so much Zander, you did an awesome job!!!
