Here at the Schmieding Center, we are always looking for volunteers to participate in a weekly program that we have every Friday 10:00am – 2:00pm. The program is called Social Engagement for Individuals Living with Dementia. Each Friday, our friends living with dementia join us for activities, lunch, and socialization while their care partner is allowed much needed respite care.

Below is a typical Friday.
10:00—participants arrive, coffee and chatting
10:15—activities such as coloring, word searches, music, etc
11:00—Balloon Volleyball
11:30—Lunch
12:15—Music with Jay
12:30—crafts, other games, table tennis, etc.
2:00—depart

Volunteers:

• Help serve lunch
• assist in activities
• visit with older adults
• clean up
• help keep an eye out for "wandering"
