As a small business, every step forward is made possible by the people who believe in what we’re building. 💛
Today, we’re excited (and a little vulnerable) to share that In Bloom Floral Company has been approved to fundraise through Kiva for a 0% interest small business loan that will help us continue growing our mission of supporting local flower farmers, florists, and our Northwest Arkansas community.
For our loan to become fully funded, we have 15 days to find 40 individual lenders who are willing to support our business. Loans can be as little as $25, are repaid over time, and every contribution helps us move one step closer to expanding In Bloom.
This opportunity means so much to us. It represents more than funding—it represents a community coming together to invest in a small business that is passionate about creating opportunities for local growers, reducing waste, and making beautiful, locally grown flowers more accessible.
If In Bloom has ever inspired you, supported your business, or simply brought a little beauty into your life, we would be incredibly grateful if you would consider becoming one of our 40 lenders or sharing our campaign with someone who might.
Thank you for believing in our dream and for helping us continue to bloom. 🌿💐

Relying on local flowers can seem stressful and unpredictable, but can be one of the best decisions you make for your client!
Here are a few tips and tricks to consider when planning for incorporating local flowers into your designs 👇🏼
•Volume- can your local suppliers meet your volume needs? It’s important to reach out to the local wholesaler, collective or grower you work with in advance to ensure there will be enough flowers in your color palette available for you to purchase. Once that’s determined, be sure to learn their delivery / harvest schedule and be one of the first to shop that week!
•If you want to ensure volume availability but don’t want to necessarily stick to an exact line item pre order, consider putting down a deposit with the collective or wholesaler. Let them know you want to spend X amount of money on local items and then make your selections in person.
•Expect a few substitutions- if you do decide to place a pre order for local flowers, understand that things happen and certain flowers can bloom early or late, and that can be unpredictable! Communicate with your wholesaler about which substitutions you prefer or select your own substitutions at pick up!
•Save room in the budget- if you prefer to ship in imported products and stick to recipes and stem allocation spreadsheets, do that! Saving room in the budget for shopping local flowers in addition to shipping what you need to ship will help you secure the most unique, and high quality local items while still maintaining your peace and comfort. This can help elevate your designs, increase client satisfaction and stimulate the local flower economy!
•Expect the unexpected- weather conditions can lead to early or late bloom periods that can be impossible to predict in advance. You may find a dahlia in early May or a late flush of Lisianthus in the late fall that couldn’t have been planned for but may be exactly what you needed to round out your designs.
Using local flowers will teach you to design with the seasons, remain flexible in designs and encourage your local growers to keep up the good work!
