EAST at Monitor Elementary

EASTCon26 has been fun so far—one of our greatest hits for sure!

Grandparents are invited to come eat lunch with their grandchild{ren} on Monday, November 17th! Grandparents can bring lunch with them or purchase lunch from our cafeteria. Please use the form linked below to RSVP for the event and to indicate if you would like lunch from the cafeteria. If you would like to order a lunch from the cafeteria, please RSVP by Monday, November 3rd. When coming for lunch, grandparents should bring their ID and arrive early to check-in! Lots of learning and fun going on in EAST! 2nd and 3rd grades have been learning to use Google Suite, Canva, and TinkerCAD. 4th and 5th grades are full speed ahead on brainstorming, project work, meeting with community partners, cooking, and so much more!

Late posting, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EAST! We celebrated with games and lots of snacks!

This week in EAST, Emily and Samantha shared their knowledge of True Colors with us. This study helps us learn what strengths we can bring to project work. We also spent time brainstorming ways we can make our community a better place and fit in time to plant our Fall garden.

This week we worked in the garden, transplanting our Marigolds, attended True Colors student training at the UofA, finished our Float Your Boat challenge, and participated in some collaborative team building.

We have had an amazing week in EAST! We worked on some EAST business and organization, participated in some team building, and built boats that sailed (mostly) across a wild sea! Learning is so fun with these EASTies!

EAST at Monitor Elementary is excited to be recognized as a 2025 Level 2 (highest level) Program of Influence. Our program is working hard to grow and learn! We can’t wait to see what the 2025-2026 year in EAST will hold. We are ready to celebrate EAST Initiative 30th birthday!
