What's up everybody welcome to this week's Hughes Huddle. It is Monday May 13th hope y’all had a wonderful weekend! I got a ton to cover this week so I'm going to get it started right off the bat, I told you last week we were right in the thick of it here at Wilkerson!
First thing, a couple of weeks ago we missed a Friday because of the storms, and so you know Thursday was the Nightmare where we were stuck at school. We had already missed some days earlier in the semester with that freeze. The thing is that we do have to make up it's like 45 minutes or 40ish minutes that we have to make up as a district so, next Thursday (5/23) the students last day we will be dismissing at 1:30 instead of what whe had originally schedule at 12:50, so new dismissal time for May 23rd the last day with kiddos uh will be 1:30 p.m. Obviously Conroe ISD transportation and everybody will adjust the bus schedules and car riders will be dismissed at 1:30
We are in the thick of it we got a lot of stuff so I'll start with the afterschool things that we have this week and some that we have next week just to make you aware so you can put it on your calendar. Tonight is the Band concert and it will not be at Wilkerson it will be at The Woodlands High School Auditorium, ourstudents will be performing uh 6:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. will be fifth graders and 7:00 p.m. will be the sixth graders and then the Wind Ensemble will be at 7:25 p.m. so basically festivities will start tonight at 6, so see you there if your kiddo is in band, we'll celebrate them tonight with the big Band concert.
Tomorrow night is the Choir concert at Wilkerson back in the Cafeteria area and that will be at 7:00 pm. p.m. on Tuesday night.
Thursday night will be our Big Community Night, we have family Bingo, that's a lot of fun, we'll have Art Gallery, our art teachers will be putting up a gallery walk of all of our Art students’ artwork, and we have Book Fair, Miss Wetzig will have the library open for Book Fair.
Since we are a Title One campus, that evening then we're also having Math and Science Activity night, our teachers will be in the gym with different Math and Science activities and games set up. You will be able to of see what the students did throughout the year in the in Math and Science classes. I'm sure your students will want to show you some of the things they work on, so lots going on Thursday night here at Wilkerson, be ready for that!

Next Tuesday the 21st will be our we'll have our quarterly and our last nine week awards at the school, we’ll do what we do every nine weeks with the students. We’ll have an award ceremony where the kids win their wonderful Wildcat, their Roar Award, A and B honor role. That night at College Park we are going to have a yearly award ceremony for Wilkerson students who have um won in several categories so like all A's for the entire year, perfect attendance for the entire year, Yearly awards for like Wonderful Wildcat for the whole year Roar Awards for that you will receive an invitation, since it is just a select number of students and we are limited for space there at the College Park Auditorium the Awards Ceremony will be by Invitation Only. Be on the lookout for invitations.

Tomorrow is the Faculty versus students basketball game, we have the dunk tank on Friday where myself as well as a lot of the student teachers will be getting dunked that is a reward from our fabulous Color Run fundraiser.

Next Monday will be the Assembly line of Doom where I'm getting pied in the face color, thrown on me silly strings and then cleaned off by having water dumped on then I'm also getting slimed on Monday the students whom registered early for the Color Run will get to slime me. That is going to be a messy Friday's for Mr.Hughes!
Faculty versus student soccer game will be next Tuesday and then Field day on the 22nd.
The PTO has sent out a blast asking for volunteers. They do need volunteers to sign up uh for that field day. If you're working the event um we're going to need you stationed your assigned spot. On Field day the kids have an absolute blast it is totally a great day, we want to send them off having fun!!!
On Thursday, the last day, they're going to do yearbook signings in the morning and then um eat lunch and then it's their summer starts!

So lots going on these next two weeks!! And as always, we appreciate your support. This year that we've done a lot of fun things, from the Fall Festival to nightly events, Wilkerson Wonderland all the things so thank you, thank you, thank you, and we're going to get through these eight days and then summertime starts!

¿Cómo están todos? Bienvenidos al Hughes Huddle de esta semana. ¡Es lunes 13 de mayo, espero que hayan tenido un fin de semana maravilloso! Tengo mucho que cubrir esta semana, así que voy a comenzar de inmediato. ¡Les dije la semana pasada que estábamos en el cierre de año escolar aquí en Wilkerson!
Lo primero, hace un par de semanas nos perdimos un viernes debido a las tormentas, así que ya saben, el jueves fue una pesadilla en la que estábamos atrapados en la escuela. Ya nos habíamos perdido algunos días antes del semestre con ese congelamiento. La cuestión es que tenemos que recuperar como 45 minutos o 40 minutos como distrito, por lo que el próximo jueves (23/5) los estudiantes saldrán a la 1:30 en lugar de lo que originalmente había programado a las 12:50, por lo que la nueva hora de salida para el 23 de mayo, el último día con niños, será la 1:30 p.m. Obviamente, el transporte de Conroe ISD y todos ajustarán los horarios de los autobuses y los que viajan en automóvil saldrán a la 1:30 pm.

Dado que somos un campus de Título Uno, esa noche también tendremos la noche de actividades de Matemáticas y Ciencias, nuestros maestros estarán en el gimnasio con diferentes actividades y juegos de Matemáticas y Ciencias configurados. Podrás ver lo que hicieron los estudiantes durante todo el año en las clases de Matemáticas y Ciencias. Estoy seguro de que sus estudiantes querrán mostrarle algunas de las cosas en las que trabajan, así que habrá muchas cosas el jueves por la noche aquí en Wilkerson, ¡esté preparado para eso!

El próximo martes 21 tendremos nuestros premios trimestrales y los de las últimas nueve semanas en la escuela, haremos lo que hacemos cada nueve semanas con los estudiantes. Tendremos una ceremonia de premiación donde los niños ganarán su maravilloso Wildcat, su premio Roar y sus premios de cuadro de Honor A y B. Esa noche en College Park vamos a tener una ceremonia de premiación anual para los estudiantes de Wilkerson que han ganado en varias categorías, como todas las A durante todo el año, asistencia perfecta durante todo el año, premios anuales por Wonderful Wildcat durante todo el año. El próximo lunes será la línea del terror, donde me arrojarán polvos de color, me arrojarán hilos tontos y luego me “limpiarán” a cubetazos de agua y luego también me arrojarán slime los estudiantes que se registraron temprano para el Color Run. ¡Será un viernes complicado para el señor Hughes!
El partido de fútbol entre profesores y estudiantes será el próximo martes y luego el día de campo el día 22.
El PTO ha enviado un mensaje pidiendo voluntarios. Necesitan voluntarios para inscribirse para ayudar el día de campo. Si estás trabajando en el evento, vamos a necesitar que te coloques en el lugar asignado. El día de campo los niños se lo pasan genial, es un gran día, ¡¡¡queremos que se diviertan!!!

El jueves, el último día, firmarán el anuario por la mañana y luego almorzarán y ¡luego comenzará el verano!

¡¡Estarán sucediendo muchas cosas en estas próximas dos semanas!! Como siempre, agradecemos su apoyo. Este año hemos hecho muchas cosas divertidas, desde el Festival de Otoño hasta eventos nocturnos, Wilkerson Wonderland, todo, así que gracias, gracias, gracias, y vamos a cerrar con broche de oro estos ocho días y luego ¡el verano empieza!

Conroe ISD: Wilkerson Parents, just wanted to give an update. Power is still out, but the kids are safe and currently playing games and drawing in the cafeteria and the gym. I wanted to make you aware that if the power is still out around lunchtime, we will only have cold lunches available for the students. We have not received any updates on when power will be restored. The roads in our community are very dangerous right now, so please be careful. if you are wanting to pick up your student, Please be very patient as it is a process right now communicating on campus and retrieving the students. I will give you more updates when available.

The rising 5th grade parent night was a success! Mrs. Horton and Mrs. Cirigliano (Spanish presentation) talked about routines, expectations, schedules, specials and many other important facts about the daily life of our Wildcats. We’re so happy to have new Wildcat families joining us next August!

March 18th Hughes Huddle

What’s going on welcome back wildcats 🗣️⁉️. It is March 18th We are back from spring break. I hope y’all had a fabulous spring break. The was overcast most of the week, I stayed in town but nonetheless it was a break. Hope you enjoyed it.

Kids were all excited to get back today. I was good to see everybody back and just kind of goof around with the kids again so welcome back! Hope you had a great break. We are starting our fourth quarter so it is crunch time, we’re coming back from spring brave, got roughly 9 weeks left and this is what all balls go down to. I told the kids this on the announcements this morning, this is where we put it all on paper. We’re getting all the things so this is the most important time of the year. This is what teachers work so hard for her to get to this point, students work so hard to get to this point, so just make sure kiddos are getting good sleep and and being here is very important. Now is where all comes to fruition.

Just couple of friendly reminders as we close out the year and fourth quarter. SmarTags please make sure your kiddo is wearing lanyard and SmarTag, if not they can be purchased for two dollars with Ms. Wetzig at the library. No stuffed animals, knickknacks, deck boards and all that kind of distractions don’t bring them in the classroom, pease make sure that your students are leaving that stuff at home. Dress code like always make sure that it’s appropriate and they have appropriate shoes for to participate in PE.

Testing this week we do have Tuesday 5th grade Science interim, it’s just a checkpoint, to know where we’re at where our kids at and how we’re gonna just instruction moving forward heading into the end of the school year. Sixth grade does not have Science interim,.
Sixth grade have a Science test on Friday.
On Friday Fifth and Sixth grade have a Math CFA, Common Formative Assessment, one of those checkpoints as well so both fifth and sixth grade will have one on Friday and then that’s it for testing this week.

There are a couple of other important dates this week on Saturday the CISD job fair will be at grand Oaks High School so, if you know anybody who is not a CSID employees invite them!! Friends or family members are teachers moved to the area or are in other districts It’s 9 AM to noon on Saturday, it is an amazing district to work on.

I need to do a congratulations to our honor choir!! We had some students that were selected by and will participate in a Honor Choir concert on Saturday at McCollough. Congratulations to McKenzie Brown, Vienne M., Chasity Lewis, Evelyn Roberts and Manya Menash. Congratulations y’all for representing Wilkerson. Well can’t wait to see what y’all do on Saturday at the CSID Honor Choir concert at McCollough.

We just got off of spring break and then all of a sudden next week on the 29th and then the first a four-day weekend so next week is only Monday through Thursday.�
Theme Thursday this Thursday is favorite TV show or movie, so I’ve got 1 million that will be our theme Thursday for this Thursday so I think that’s it. I think I touched everything, as always, if you have any questions you need anything reach out to us. I’m glad everybody’s back ready to finish. I will be back next Monday.

¿Qué está pasando? Bienvenidos gatos monteses 🗣️⁉️. Es 18 de marzo. Estamos de regreso de las vacaciones de primavera. Espero que hayan tenido unas fabulosas vacaciones de primavera. Estuvo nublado la mayor parte de la semana, me quedé en la ciudad pero aun así fue un descanso. Espero que lo hayas disfrutado.

Todos los niños estaban emocionados de regresar hoy. Me alegró ver a todos de regreso y volver a divertirme con los niños, así que ¡bienvenidos de nuevo! Espero que hayas tenido un gran descanso. Estamos comenzando nuestro cuarto trimestre, así que es el momento decisivo, estamos regresando de la primavera con valentía, nos quedan aproximadamente 9 semanas y esto es a lo que se reducen todas las bolas. Les dije esto a los niños en los anuncios de esta mañana, aquí es donde lo plasmamos todo por escrito. Estamos recibiendo todas las cosas, por lo que esta es la época más importante del año. El sexto grado tiene un examen de ciencias el viernes.
El viernes, quinto y sexto grado tendrán una CFA de Matemáticas, Evaluación Formativa Común, uno de esos puntos de control también, por lo que tanto quinto como sexto grado tendrán uno el viernes y eso será todo para las pruebas esta semana.

Hay un par de otras fechas importantes esta semana el sábado, la feria de empleo de CISD será en Grand Oaks High School, así que, si conoce a alguien que no sea empleado de CSID, ¡invítelo! Amigos o familiares son maestros que se mudaron al área o están en otros distritos. Son las 9 a. m. hasta el mediodía del sábado, es un distrito increíble para trabajar.

¡¡Necesito felicitar a nuestro coro de honor!! Tuvimos algunos estudiantes que fueron seleccionados y participarán en un concierto del Coro de Honor el sábado en McCollough.
