Such a fun and successful first field trip of the summer!! ☀️Thank you to bowlero for having us! 🎳
Montessori is a method of education that is based on self - directed activity, hands - on learning and collaborative play. Children are able to make choices in their learning, while the classroom and the highly trained teacher offer age - appropriate activities to guide the process. #
SOUND ON! 🔉🔈Bon Appétit, let’s eat!!
Everyday, the children join in the lunch room and sing a quick chant for the meal they are about to eat. Having a chant in place helps the students understand and be aware of the next transition taking place. Good job, primary students! ⭐️
At Cypresswood Montessori children are happy.
The upbringing of a child is a process that requires utmost care, love, and concern so that the child stays happy and contented at all stages of his life.
Come and see our classrooms for children 2 years old to Kindergarten age, which helps develop and deepen a love for learning. It also helps with social skills, formulation concepts, and peaceful problem-solving.
A new study has found that children who attend Montessori schools often have greater well-being and happiness in adulthood.
The findings, published in academic journal Frontiers in Psychology, suggest a Montessori education is superior to conventional education in terms of long-term psychological well-being outcomes or what the researchers describe as “the felt experience of health, happiness and flourishing”. The reasons for this could include children being able to choose their own work and participate in meaningful activities and greater social stability in their classes and peer groups.https://www.mariamontessori.org/montessori-educated-children-are-happier-adults/ #:~:text=The%20new%20study%20has%20found,being%20and%20happiness%20in%20adulthood.
Happy faces every day!

Here's what we've been up to this week! In Montessori classrooms, independence is an ongoing and organic process. As a child learns to pour water, put on his own shoes, or clean her own work space, he or she becomes a more confident, independent individual which will lead to ongoing benefits throughout life!
Children from 6 weeks through 18 months will experience incredible learning, awareness, and growth in their first year. We are here to help their development in any way we can so your baby will develop all his potential!

Education cannot be effective unless its helps a child open up himself for life - Montessori
Here's what we've been up to! Beginning at an early age, Montessori nurtures order, concentration, and independence. Intentional classroom design, materials, and daily routines support the student's emerging “self-regulation” to have the ability to educate one's self, and to think about what one is learning.
The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn -Maria Montessori

We want to thank all of our families for your support throughout these 20 years. We are so grateful that you allowed us to be apart of yours and your children's lives! Here's to many more years of learning and growing together. Happy Anniversary, Cypresswood Montessori! 🎉
Fall is beautiful! 🍂🍁
Our students got to collect some colorful leaves off of our Chinaberry Tree! After they collected the leaves, they sorted them out by color and made art with them! 🎨
Being outdoors and exploring nature is so important for child growth and development! We encourage our students to go outside as much as possible! 🌳
Early Thanksgiving Luncheon! 🦃
We really enjoyed our thanksgiving themed lunch at school today! We even got to make some really cute Turkey hats to help us celebrate! 🎩
Spanish Class! 👩🏫
Our Primary 3 class has begun their Spanish lessons! During their first lesson, they learned how to sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" in spanish. Music is a fun and effective way to learn a new language! 🎤 Our students really enjoyed learning the song!
Cypresswood Montessori Costume Parade 2022!!
We absolutely loved seeing all of these adorable costumes last week! We hope you enjoy them as much as we did! 🥰
Pumpkin Playtime!
To help us celebrate Halloween, we made our very own school Jack-O-Lantern! 🎃
We let all of the children take turns cleaning it out, and they did a wonderful job. This sensory exercise allowed the children to have some hands on science exploration and observation practice.
Plus it was SUPER fun! 😁
Got to Wrap up Community Helpers week with the coolest visit of all... The Police Car!!🚓
We want to thank these wonderfully kind Officers for taking time out of their busy schedules to come visit our little school! They talked with the students about being safe and answered all of their questions. They even turned the back seat of the patrol car into a mini jungle gym for the students to climb through! What an awesome week! 🤩
Continuing our Community helpers week with a real Ambulance truck!! 🚑
We want to give a HUGE shout out to our awesome parent volunteer that helped us put this together! She is a paramedic and brought an Ambulance truck to show the kids! She also spoke with them about her job and how she helps people every day! Way to go Mom!! 💪 Thank you for everything that you do!
Celebrating Community Helpers Week at Cypresswood Montesssori! 🌟
Our kiddos learned all about Firefighters yesterday! They even got their very own firefighter hats to take home! 🚒
Our Toddlers are learning about the letter "Y" this week! They discovered that Y makes the beginning sound for the word Yarn!
So they made their very own balls of yarn by gluing the strings onto their paper! This super fun project not only stregthened their fine motor skills, it helped with their concentration and hand-eye coordination as well!
Happy International Day of Peace 🕊☮️
From all of our children and staff here at Cypresswood Montessori!
Making Kites! 🪁
Our children got an awesome lesson in science and physics by making kites to fly outdoors! Kite flying also helps with hand-eye coordination, kinesthetic awareness, and gross motor development! Not to mention all of the fun it is to fly them! 🤸
The weather has finally been behaving well enough for us to explore our outdoor play yard and gardens! ☀️
Our Kindergartners set out to complete their nature hunt, and they were quite successful! They found so many different types of plants! They found bright plants, dull brown plants, soft silky plants, and hard rough plants! 🌳
It sure feels good to be back outside!! 🌻
