Posting a photo from 1957. My cousins, Neil Wymer and Abe Evelyn Friesen standing on a stack of concrete forms on a trailer being pulled by our 1951 Chevrolet station wagon. The forms were to be used to form the walls of the basement of the house that was being moved from a farm outside Meade, Kansas to our new property that was located east of Dodge City on the Ft. Dodge Rd.

My family (Mrs. Ruth Anna (Wymer) Melrose and my sisters
(my twin, Patricia) lived on N. Madison Street across from the Holler and the Morton families from abt. 1946 until we moved
to Dodge City during the summer of 1956. Our mother, Mrs. Hugh H. Melrose, was a WWII widow. She operated the Melrose Photography Studio in the front living room of our house for most of the years we lived in Protection. Our mom also was the photographer that took the elementary school class photos. Ruth graduated from Protection High School in 1932. Ruth's husband, Hugh Melrose was a soldier in the U.S. Army''s 90th Division, 357th Inf. Reg., Co. G. He was Killed In Action in Normandy, France several days after the D Day landings on June 6, 1944. Ruth never remarried.
