Tailored Teacher Takes on Advocacy

Hey friends. This is likely going to be a hot button issue soon.
But, just know, taking the voucher funding doesn’t guarantee the education will be better. What it does guarantee is that now, there is additional oversight in your child’s schooling that’s not coming directly from any of the major stakeholders (you, teachers, school administrators, support service teacher etc)

All I can advise is that the process looks better in theory than it ever will in action.

Texas families considering private school options will soon be able to apply for Education Freedom Accounts, the state’s new voucher-style program, but experts say planning ahead is critical.

The application window opens February 4, 2026, and demand is expected to be high.

This is not okay. At all. I done have the answers but I do have more questions why our most vulnerable children aslee the first to suffer when millionaires and politicians are making policies and playing political games.

Head Start programs that serve tens of thousands of the nation’s neediest preschoolers are facing a cutoff of federal funding at the end of the month because of the government shutdown, leaving many scrambling to figure out how to keep their doors open.

When we talk about ways children get in trouble at school, these are important reminders. They are just people, too, and deserve a moment of understanding.

Sorry for the language, however, this meme shares a valuable reminder.
If your child needs to be reminded to eat, or needs snack breaks, write them into their IEP! You may need a doctor’s note, but it’s so worth it if it helps their brains focus.

I forget where I saw this observation form, but how awesome is this?! If you’re needing observation data, this is a great form to share!

Why would you need observation data? To get more information about what’s happening in the classroom, from focus, to social skills, to cooperation and more.

Does your child have social skills support in their IEP? Ask for a neurotypical buddy for your child! This can be a peer they go to specials (PE/Art/Music/Computer) with in elementary school, or someone in their home room/study hall in intermediate school.

It’s a great way to build skills in a natural way. (And it’s helping both kids!)
