Another big essay contest winner - congratulations to Elizabeth Rudolph '22, who won first place in the USCCB Religious Liberty Essay Contest. For the essay she was tasked to share a story of a person who was a witness to freedom. She wrote about Fr. Anthony Kohlmann who refused to break the seal of the confessional and the legal proceedings against him that resulted in the New York government recognizing the sanctity of the Seal of Confession. Elizabeth will be awarded a cash scholarship and her essay will be published in a June edition of the Our Sunday Visitor newspaper. Way to go, Elizabeth!
This afternoon we celebrated a Memorial Mass for Juana Boada '21. Father David Hust was our celebrant, and the family unveiled plans for enhancing our stations of the cross and rosary into a memorial garden for the departed loved ones of the Frassati Catholic community.
A big congratulations to Gabe Briers '24 who just won first place in the national Catholic Textbook Project essay contest. This annual contest prompted high school entrants to "describe an important historical event, the key players, its outcome, and how it changed history." Gabe's essay examined the impact of Martin Luther, focusing especially on the Church's response to the chaos of the Protestant Reformation. As a winner, he earned a cash prize as well as money for Frassati Catholic to order books from the host company. Way to go, Gabe!
Today we celebrated a big milestone in our Home Field Advantage Capital Campaign - Groundbreaking! Official construction begins soon.
