Dear Fine Arts Parents:

In lieu of last night’s TAEC meeting, Dr. Joe Clark, Spring ISD’s Fine Arts Director, created this short, informative video: TAEC Call to Action Video

We need your support! HB 434 is threatening our Fine Arts programs by proposing to allow CTE courses to meet the high school Fine Arts requirement. This bill is getting a hearing on the floor of the state House on March 9th! We need all our Fine Arts parents to join the Texas Arts Education Campaign immediately. Currently, there are only 7,000 people signed up with TAEC. To impress the Texas Legislature and make sure HB 434 never becomes law, we need 17,000, 27,000 or even 107,000 parent advocates statewide!

Thank you for your continued support in advocating for a Fine Arts presence for ALL Texas children.

[02/18/21]   Stay warm and safe. If any current Strack STARS are bored and wondering what to do, you can always keep active and warm practicing "Dancing Queen"! 😉

[01/16/21]   2021 OAP auditions for "The 10 Best/Worst Things about Middle School" are next Tuesday and Wednesday after school. Come see the theatre director if you need the audition info.

[01/09/21]   News on OAP auditions will be available later this week.

[11/01/20]   Klein tournament video entries are due to me by Nov. 10th. Detailed information can be located on the Strack S.T.A.R.S. tournament team group pate.

[10/02/20]   Tournament team is underway. Get your pieces selected. Submissions are Oct. 24th. Details still pending.

[05/07/20]   Life has dealt us all a difficult hand to play and we are all missing each other and the things that school brings into our life. It’s easy to forget all the wonderful things we have experienced over this last school year, so since we won’t be able to have our usual annual banquet in the traditional sense this year, Strack Theatre department would like you to take the time to reflect on all the GREAT things our Strack Stars did this past year before COVID-19 struck. Thank you to our Historian Dom Castillo and his fabulous mom Danielle Castillo for taking all these wonderful pictures and putting this together for us. ENJOY!!!

[03/21/20]   Hello all,
I pray you are all doing well during this strange, and challenging time we are all going through right now. I hope you and your family are all healthy and stay that way until things return to what we all consider normal. In the meantime, I wanted to reach out to you and say that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know the kids are anxious to be back at school with their teachers and friends, and may be wondering whether they should be continuing to work on the play we just cast prior to spring break. I would like for them to continue to work on memorization if they are a cast member, or work on technical designs, look for sounds, or lighting looks etc if they are crew members. I don’t know what our future holds at this time, but I know that if we do end up returning to school in April as scheduled, although we won’t have our UIL One Act Play Festival, I would still like to perform this play for a public audience of family and friends.

Thank you parents for all you are doing to keep them learning, focused, safe, healthy and happy, I can't wait to see them all again, hopefully very soon.

Your friendly neighborhood Theatre Teacher and Director
Cheryl Robinson
