The Sam Houston State University Charter School was granted an “open enrollment” charter by the Texas Education Agency and opened in the fall of 2017. I have been asked "Why a charter school?" Our purpose is to provide the highest quality education to our students and also provide the students of the Sam Houston State University Educator Preparation Program a place to hone their skills as future educators.

We invite all of our Bearkats and their Grandparents to our annual Grandparents Day Breakfast on Tuesday, September 15th from 7:15am-7:45am. Breakfast and coffee will be provided. We’ll have coloring pages, a photo set up, and the Scholastic Book Fair open to shop! We can’t wait to celebrate with you all! Please RSVP by Friday, September 11th so we can plan accordingly.

Our Specials class received some NEW equipment today! These items will be available for students across ALL grade levels to enjoy! ❤️

We were excited to provide:

⭕ Hula hoops
📦 A large ball storage crate
…and MORE!

Your involvement allows us to bring much-needed resources and opportunities directly to our campus and our students. 100% of donations and fundraiser proceeds are invested back to our campus.

🌭 We’re FRANKLY glad to have the staff we do!

Today, we treated our staff to hotdogs as a small THANK YOU for their dedication, commitment, and all they do for our students!
