Did you know cooking with your kids can help enhance their fine motor skills? Whether it’s to sprinkle sprinkles onto cupcakes, pulling leaves off herbs, or putting pepperoni on the pizza ask for their help in the kitchen. Try making a tasty lunch with them like an English Muffin Pizza!

English Muffin Pizza
Ingredients:
6 English muffins cut in half
3/4 cup pizza sauce store bought or homemade sauce
3 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 tsp pizza seasoning
pepperoni

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

While oven is preheating, make sure muffins are sliced and toast in the toaster for a minute or so. This makes sure the pizza stays more crunchy and doesn't get too soggy.

After it's done toasting, add about 1/8 cup of sauce to each muffins. Then, top with 1/2 cup shredded cheese, a sprinkle of pizza seasoning and then pepperonis. 

Bake for 10 minutes or so or until all cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve warm.

Change it up!!! Add different toppings like olives, crumbled sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, ham, pineapple, chicken, spinach, bacon bits to really make it your own.

Orange Julius
Ingredients:
6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup ice cubes

Directions:
Combine all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

Change it up!
Try adding other frozen fruits like bananas or strawberries (or even pineapple juice).

You can pour it into a popsicle mold and enjoy a frozen treat.

Our Little Red Schoolhouse will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023 so our staff can enjoy Labor Day with their families. We will reopen at 6 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. We hope you enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
