Ahead of another exciting season, our Spring Lake coaching staff gathered for an all-coaches meeting!

Year after year, our coaches show up because of a genuine passion for competition and the pure joy of the sport.

Above all, they do this work for our students. They give their time and energy to guide them, challenge them, and encourage them. We are so grateful for the strength, heart, and dedication this team brings to Spring Lake Public Schools.

Summer is still on, but our amazing staff stays busy preparing to make this our most inclusive year yet!

District Unified Sports representatives Tanya Mey, Mike Rotman, and Ashley Reynolds are currently representing Spring Lake at the 2026 Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools (UCS) Conference. We are thrilled to share that for the first time ever, every single building in Spring Lake Public Schools will be a Unified Champion School!

UCS is a strategy designed to engage our entire school community in creating a culture where every student belongs. This year's theme is "Making Waves for Inclusion"—empowering our schools with the message that it only takes a single pebble to start a wave of positive change.

Educators are such a hard-working, dedicated bunch! ❤️

Not only are our athletes back on the field, but we are also welcoming our very newest Lakers to the family!

In a brand-new tradition, we officially kicked off K Camp—a full, hands-on experience designed to help our youngest learners ease into school life with confidence and excitement.

Our Developmental Kindergarten (DK) and Kindergarten students got to:
✔️Meet all of their wonderful DK/K teachers
✔️Explore the playground
✔️Dive into the classroom and experience all the magic of a school day!

We are so proud of our newest Lakers for taking these big first steps, and we can't wait to see them shine this school year! ❤️

It is such a thrill to have our athletes back and rolling as high school practices officially begin today!

We expect big things from our teams and individual athletes this season—and from our fan section, too!

Here is our challenge to the entire Laker community: Show up to at least one sport you’ve never seen before this year. Come cheer on a new squad, learn a new game, and bring that unbeatable Laker energy to the stands!

Summer is still on, but our amazing staff stays busy learning and growing all year long!

Just last week, a group of over 20 SLPS staff members came together to dive deep into the practice of restorative circles. This powerful training focuses on proactive community building—fostering positive behavior and strong relationships before an issue ever occurs. Just as importantly, it equips our team with the tools to guide students in healing and restoring connections whenever challenges do arise.

Educators are such a hard-working, dedicated bunch!

One last incredible reflection from our Middle School Travel Club’s trip to Washington, D.C.! Our Lakers had the chance to explore the National Museum of the United States Army, diving into military history through hands-on artifacts and interactive media.

Here is Gregory Gorbach (Class of 2030) sharing his favorite highlights from the museum: 👇

“Some things that I liked about the National Museum of the United States Army were the many cool and historic artifacts and the video that was shown. The artifacts from many wars, from the American Revolution to World War 2, was very cool, as it not only showed items that were used in the wars but also how weapons and technology advanced over time. I also liked the short video that was shown, as it showed many engaging scenes and really made us feel like we were a part of the videos when they gave effects such as wind, a large tv that spanned across the room and temperature changes in the room.”

We love seeing our students experience history in such interactive and memorable ways!

A huge thank you to Mrs. Brewster and Ms. Adrian for leading such an enriching journey, and to our student travelers for representing Spring Lake Public Schools so well throughout the trip! ❤️
