🦸‍♀️✨ Our next SCS superhero is one of our very own!

A proud SCS alumna, she is excited to return to St. Catharine School as a teacher in our Primary Wing! 💙💛

We’re thrilled to welcome her home and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make on our youngest learners! 📚🕊️

🦸 Meet our Hero: Miss Ava Tarzian

🍎 Mission: Kindergarten Teacher

❤️ Why I Became an Educator: Children have an incredible ability to find joy in the little things, and being part of that is what inspired me to become a teacher. I’m honored to support their academic and personal growth while creating a classroom where every child feels known, valued, confident, and free to be who God created them to be. 💙✨

📚 Connection to SCS: As a proud SCS alumna, returning to teach here is incredibly meaningful. The faith, values, and community that shaped me as a student make it a privilege to now give back and help shape the next generation. 💙💛

🌴 Favorite Pastimes: Outside the classroom, I love spending time with family, staying active through tennis, workouts, and long walks, and exploring new places. I also enjoy baking, reading, crafting, and playing board games with family and friends! 💙

⭐ Dream Superpower: The ability to heal. There is something incredibly powerful about helping others find hope, comfort, and restoration. If I could make someone’s difficult day a little lighter, I would.

🙏 My Super Mission This Year: Above all, I hope my students develop a deep trust in God’s faithfulness. I want them to know they are loved unconditionally, created with purpose, and never alone. I will encourage them to grow in gratitude, extend kindness generously, and learn that even the smallest acts of love and service can make a lasting difference.

🦸 Meet the Newest Heroes of St. Catharine School!

Every superhero has an origin story, and we’re excited to introduce the incredible educators and staff who will be making a difference in the lives of our students this year!

Over the next few days, you’ll meet the newest members of our SCS family and discover what inspires them, what brings them joy, and the unique “superpowers” they’ll bring to our classrooms and community.

🦸 Meet our Hero: Miss Kristiana Kuras

🍎 Mission: Spanish, Grades 3-8

❤️ Why I Became an Educator: I previously worked at an elementary school in Spain and absolutely loved learning from them! 🇪🇸 I’m excited to continue sharing my love of culture and language and helping them develop skills that will benefit them for years to come! 🌎💙

📚 Connection to SCS: A Jersey Shore native and a member of Holy Cross Church in Rumson and excited to be part of our local Catholic school community! 💙

🌴 Favorite Pastimes: I enjoy baking, spending time with my friends and family, and planning my next trip. I love to stay active, and enjoy pilates and swimming. I also enjoy taking my dog, Teddy, for long walks.

⭐ Dream Superpower: It would definitely be flying. I’d be able to travel anywhere I’d like!

🙏 My Super Mission This Year: I hope to inspire our students to embrace the Catholic virtue of Hope this year. I want them to believe in themselves, discover the connections between different languages and cultures, and recognize how much we truly have in common.

Our Aftercare Program offers a structured, supportive, and warm environment for students from dismissal until 5:30 PM. Students complete homework, play, and wind down from the day. 🏫✏️
