Happy Birthday to us! Today we celebrate 165 years of Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary — what a legacy!

For 165 years, GMA has honored its traditions while continuing to grow, innovate, and look toward the future, always with Mercy at the heart of who we are.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we’re proud of our rich heritage, excited for all that lies ahead, and grateful for the generations of students, families, faculty, staff, and Sisters of Mercy who have made GMA what it is today.

Here’s to 165 years of tradition, innovation, and, most of all, Mercy — and to the future we’re building together

Flat Catherine is back in her home country! Mrs. Linda Reeves, our Director of Mission and Faith Formation, brought her along to Dublin for a Mercy Pilgrimage to Ireland, joining Mercy educators from around the world as they walk in Catherine McAuley’s footsteps and deepen their connection to her life and legacy.

During a visit to Catherine’s chapel, Mrs. Reeves lit two candles—one for the Gwynedd-Mercy Academy community and one for the special intentions of our families, faculty, staff, and friends. ️

What a meaningful homecoming for Flat Catherine and a beautiful reminder that the spirit of Mercy connects us across the world.

Flat Catherine made it all the way to South Africa! Annabelle, an incoming kindergartner, brought her along for a visit to the Giraffe House in the Western Cape. What a wild adventure for Flat Catherine, and for Annabelle!

Flat Catherine is on the move again! After stops in Scotland and Galway with Mrs. Reeves, she’s headed to Dublin—and especially excited to visit her home country!

Cole and Aubrey helped Flat Catherine check another iconic landmark off her summer travel list! What a view of incredible Mount Rushmore and a picture-perfect stop!

Flat Catherine is back in North America! 7th grader, Andrew brought her along to explore see the sights in Montreal, Quebec, adding another fun stop to her summer adventures!

Flat Catherine is on the move again! This time, Hunter and Maddie brought her along for an adventure through Germany—from the storybook scenery of the Black Forest to the history of Berlin.

Incoming 2nd grader, Mila, has us thinking about the Jersey Shore on a Friday afternoon—just what we need to recharge and relax! She brought Flat Catherine along for some summer fun in Ocean City.

Flat Catherine headed north to beat the summer heat! Lyla (8th), Grace (7th), and Everly (3rd) brought her along to see the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, the second largest waterfall in Iceland! Now that’s a cool summer adventure!
