YES, We are back in action for the 2026-2027 school year. It was great seeing all my people in halls on Open House Night. Many of you caught me in the halls and reminded me that “TAG, I AM IT” now. It is true. But, that fun statement we do does mean a lot to me. Thank you for trusting us to take care of your best, and that we will do!
A few things as we start off the year.
As you come to school Tuesday Morning, Please pack some extra patience as we navigate bringing everyone safely into the building.
Everyone (including buses) enters the morning carline circle by coming to campus from the ball field side of the school. Please do not enter from Food Lion. That clogs up the entry. Once you drop off your child, you exit the car line by turning right to go out the way you came. I will be sending out a video on face book to show how the car lines work. If you park to walk your child into school, you may park in the K-2 Building parking lot or along the side of the street. Please do not block driveways.
As we always do, we allow parents to walk their children into school for the first week of school. This year, we will have our SHES backdrop up for you to take those beginning of the year pictures, if you wish.
Our Kindergarten will be doing a staggered entry schedule. The teachers will be communicating which day your child will be coming.
As you may have noticed at Open House, the AC is having some issues in the 5th grade rooms. Please know, I will not allow students to stay in hot classroom with no AC. I have a plan to relocate classes to an AC covered area, if necessary. My hope is this will resolve Monday.
Dismissal is different from arrival. We have 2 car lines for our dismissal time. All K-2 students will come from the gym area. Parents will enter from the ball field side of campus and turn into the K-2 parking lot. Please follow instructions from staff.
3-5 students will be dismissed from the main entrance of the school. Parents are to enter from the back side of the campus from McLean Street that enters from Louisburg Road.
ALL parents in both carlines stop at the lot or circle entrance and wait for a staff member to instruct you when to enter the lot. This is for everyone’s safety.
WE will be using our dismissal system to call students. If you do not have your number, just tell the staff member the student’s name and we will find the number and call for them.
This should get us through our first day of School. I will be sending out a carline video on facebook Monday, so be on the look out for this.
We are so excited to see all of our students back again on Tuesday morning. Doors open at 7:20. Breakfast will be served for students.
