Good Evening Spring Hope Families,

Our first nine weeks of the 26-27 school year is now over. Report cards will be available beginning Friday October 16th.

All of our students will be excited to know that BOOK BUDDIES are returning this week. Packets are coming home Monday with instructions as to how you can get your book buddy and help out our teachers at the same time. This year the book buddies are from the Ice Age movie.

We will have our Red Ribbon Week where we dress up for each day of the week. The theme for each day is on our page.

The SHES Book Fair is coming back to Spring Hope this year and will be open to students during the week of October 26th. The Book Fair will also be open for parents during our Fall Festival on October 30th

In the evening of October 30th, our PTT will be sponsoring a Fall Festival. We will have candy for trick or treating, games and bouncy houses for our school as a fundraiser for the PTT. We will be selling wrist bands to participate in all the festivities for $15. I will let you know when we will start pre-ordering the wrist bands.
Sunday, November 15th, we will have a free skate party at Start City Skate Rink from 3-5PM. Admittance is free for Spring Hope. The event is for Spring Hope Elementary ONLY! We will be the only ones at the rink for this event. Please make arrangements to come on Sunday afternoon. The only thin g you will have to purchase is skate rental for your child, which is $4. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase from Star City as well. If we have a good turnout for the party, other events will be set for Star City in the second semester.

We are so excited for these events to take place. But to be a success, we have to Show Up, Step Up and Refuse to Give Up!

Ya ha concluido el primer periodo de nueve semanas del año escolar 2026-2027. Las boletas de calificaciones estarán disponibles a partir del viernes 16 de octubre.
A todos nuestros estudiantes les entusiasmará saber que esta semana regresan los "Book Buddies" (compañeros de lectura). El lunes se enviarán a casa paquetes con instrucciones sobre cómo pueden obtener su "Book Buddy" y, al mismo tiempo, ayudar a nuestros maestros. Este año, los "Book Buddies" están inspirados en la película *La Era de Hielo* (Ice Age).
Celebraremos la "Red Ribbon Week" (Semana del Listón Rojo), durante la cual nos disfrazaremos cada día de la semana. El tema de cada día está publicado en nuestra página de Facebook.
La Feria del Libro de SHES regresa a Spring Hope este año y estará abierta a los estudiantes durante la semana del 26 de octubre. La feria también estará abierta para los padres durante nuestro Festival de Otoño, el 30 de octubre.
La tarde del 30 de octubre, nuestra asociación PTT organizará un Festival de Otoño. Tendremos dulces para la actividad de pedir dulces (*trick-or-treat*), juegos e inflables; será un evento de recaudación de fondos para el PTT. Venderemos pulseras por $15 para participar en todas las actividades festivas. Les avisaré cuándo comenzará la preventa de las pulseras.
El domingo 15 de noviembre tendremos una fiesta de patinaje gratuita en la pista Star City Skate Rink, de 3:00 p. m. a 5:00 p. m. La entrada es gratuita para Spring Hope. ¡El evento es exclusivamente para la escuela primaria Spring Hope! Seremos los únicos en la pista durante este evento. Por favor, organicen su tiempo para asistir el domingo por la tarde. Lo único que tendrán que pagar es el alquiler de los patines para su hijo, que cuesta $4. También se podrán comprar alimentos y bebidas en Star City. Si tenemos una buena asistencia en la fiesta, se organizarán otros eventos en Star City para el segundo semestre.
Estamos muy entusiasmados con la realización de estos eventos. Pero para que sean un éxito, ¡debemos asistir, participar activamente y no rendirnos!

Aquí tienen algunos recordatorios sobre los próximos eventos en la Escuela Primaria Spring Hope (SHES).
La semana del 26 de octubre será una semana muy activa para nuestra escuela. Celebraremos la "Semana del Listón Rojo" (Red Ribbon Week), durante la cual nos disfrazaremos cada día siguiendo una temática diferente; les enviaremos los detalles próximamente para que puedan planificar su participación.
La Feria del Libro de SHES regresa este año y estará abierta a los estudiantes durante la semana del 26 de octubre. También estará abierta para los padres durante nuestro Festival de Otoño, el 30 de octubre.
¡El 30 de octubre será un día muy ajetreado en la escuela! Por la tarde, tendremos nuestra primera celebración del programa PBIS, que incluirá castillos inflables y golosinas. Esta actividad servirá para celebrar el enfoque de Apoyo al Comportamiento Positivo (PBIS) de nuestra escuela.

Spring Hope Elementary will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week the week of October 26 – 30, 2026

Red Ribbon Week is a time when people throughout the nation focus on drug prevention and education. Knowing about the dangers of using alcohol and drugs will help our students to commit to living a life that is safe and drug free. It is important that children develop coping skills now that will help them to say no to alcohol and drugs. Please support our weeklong drug free campaign by encouraging your child to participate in the follow activities:

🗓️Monday- October 26: We are RED-y to say “NO” to drugs! - Help kick-off Red Ribbon Week by wearing RED to support a healthy lifestyle.

🗓️Tuesday- October 27: Team Up Against Drugs! - Wear your favorite team gear. 🎽🏈⚽️

🗓️Wednesday- October 28: Doing drugs is just plain crazy! - Show off your crazy hair and / or your crazy socks. 🧦🤪

🗓️Thursday- October 29: When you’re drug free, your future's so bright! - Wear bright colors to school. ⭐️💚😎

🗓️Friday- October 30: Drugs aren’t in our character! - Dress up as a book character. (No masks, toy weapons, or face paint) 📚🎃

Parental discussions about alcohol and drug use are critical. Talkitoutnc.org is a helpful website that provides you with conversation starters, education, and recent data about teens and alcohol and drug use. Here are some helpful tips:
+Be a positive adult role model.
+Be involved in your child’s life.
+Set appropriate limits, clearly define and enforce rules.
+Make it easy for your child to share information about his or her life.
+Know what your child is doing and who their friends are.
+Teach your child about the dangers of underage drinking and drug use.

This week’s reminders have one event for our school community.

Thursday, September 24th, we will have a Burger King Family Evening from 4-7PM. Please come by and order dinner by telling them you are here for Spring Hope Elementary. We get a portion of the proceeds from those that mention Spring Hope Elementary. This will take place between the hours of 4 to 7 PM. I hope to see you all there! This is in Spring Hope, so make your plans to join us!

The rest of my message tonight is to give you a “heads up” about some important events coming our way.
