๐ **WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK!**
Springstead families, we had an **amazing first week of school!** The energy on campus has been fantastic, and it has been great seeing our Eagles back in classrooms, reconnecting with friends and staff, and getting involved around campus.
This week is our first full week of school, so here are the important things you need to know!
๐ซ **HOMEROOM ENDS MONDAY**
Monday will be our final day of Homeroom. Beginning Tuesday, students will report directly to 1st period, and instruction begins promptly at 7:20 AM.
๐ช Our doors open at 6:55 AM, so please keep that in mind when dropping students off.
๐ณ Breakfast will continue to be available each morning, but service begins wrapping up around 7:10 AM so students have time to get to class before the bell.
๐ **SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS**
The student add/drop request form is available on the Springstead Guidance webpage.
Requests are processed first-come, first-served as seats become available, and submitting a request does not guarantee that a change can be made.
โ ๏ธ The LAST DAY to submit an add/drop request is Friday, August 21.
๐ **PROTECTING INSTRUCTIONAL TIME & KEEPING STUDENTS SAFE**
Now that students have learned our schoolwide expectations through The Nest, we're consistently reinforcing those expectations across campus.
Our goal is simple: protect instructional time, minimize distractions, and maintain a safe and positive learning environment for every Eagle.
๐ฑ Cell Phones: Students may use phones during passing periods and at lunch. At all other times, phones should be put away unless a teacher has specifically given permission for instructional use.
๐ง Headphones: Headphones should not be worn, with the exception of one earbud during lunch.
Devices used outside of these expectations will be confiscated and may be picked up at the end of the school day. After repeated violations, a parent or guardian will be required to pick up the device, with additional consequences as outlined in our expectations.
๐ We are also consistently enforcing our dress code expectations. Please help us by making sure students arrive dressed appropriately and ready to learn.
We appreciate our families partnering with us. These expectations help our teachers focus on teaching, our students focus on learning, and all of us maintain a safe and positive campus.

Ordering information was sent through ParentSquare. Students and families may also stop by our bookkeeper, and someone will be available during lunches to collect payments.
๐ **PSAT & TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS**
The PSAT will be administered in October to all 10th-grade students. 11th-grade students may also choose to participate, including students interested in scholarship opportunities.
โ ๏ธ September 1 is an important deadline for testing accommodations.
Students with a 504 Plan, IEP, or ELL accommodations who wish to use accommodations on the PSAT must have a signed parent consent form so we can submit a request to College Board.
โก๏ธ 504 students: Return the form to your counselor.
โก๏ธ IEP students: Return the form to Mrs. Temple.
โก๏ธ ELL students: Return the form to Mrs. Bennett.
Having a 504, IEP, or ELL plan does not automatically guarantee College Board testing accommodations. College Board must approve the request, and we cannot apply on a student's behalf without signed parent permission.
