This great lady helped to change the trajectory of my life. In 1980 I had made the decision to change my college major from music to education because of a stressful first year. Then the decision was made for me to study piano under the tutelage of Joyce Bridgman at ORU, and I blossomed in her care. I graduated with a music education degree and enjoyed a fulfilling career teaching music. After 40+ years I was able to visit Professor Bridgman this week and tour the new media arts building (with rooms and a theater dedicated to her)- very grateful! 💕

Last night Jon and I had the privilege of attending the Nashville Symphony, compliments of my friend Misha Robledo! What a wonderful program: Mendelssohn’s 5th Symphony (Reformation), commemorating the contributions of Lutheranism to the church. My favorite piece on the program was Jasmine Barnes “Kinsfolkenem”, a reflection of African-American life and rhythms in our country. It featured four woodwind soloists, who played incredibly! Wow, so grateful for this experience 💕

I’m selling my Kawaii upright K-15 model! She’s been a beautiful part of my life for a few years now, used for teaching and for student recitals. Since I no longer teach at the Franklin Vineyard church, I need to find another home for her. I will include a YouTube link with info on that particular model. So very grateful for the gift of being a piano teacher to the sweetest students around! It’s truly been the best job I could have ever asked for, wouldn’t change a thing. Watching kids grow up before your eyes and developing as young musicians is a privilege I haven’t taken lightly. After this I’ll be entering a new season with more time to enjoy my grandbabies and to be a help to my hubby, and to see what else the Lord brings 💕
