Our 6th graders explored the positive and negative impacts of social media through an informative essay, as well as the history of selfies, including famous artists who created self-portraits throughout history. To connect our learning to the topic, students had the opportunity to take a selfie of their own, making a fun and meaningful connection between the past and present!

🍎🍏 Happy Apple Day! 🍏🍎

Our 1st graders enjoyed the first day of fall and had an apple-solutely wonderful day of learning! We explored apples by measuring, writing, tasting, experimenting and describing what they noticed! ✏️🍎

Learning is always sweeter when you can make it hands-on and delicious! ❤️🍏

🏐💙 A Special Day for Our 8th Grade Mustangs! 💙🏐

This afternoon, our 8th grade volleyball players took the court for their final home game at Notre Dame Catholic School. 🥹

It was a special moment recognizing these Mustangs and celebrating the dedication, teamwork, friendships, and school spirit they have brought to our volleyball program.

While their season isn’t over just yet, today marked one of those bittersweet “lasts” of their 8th grade year. We are so proud of each of them and can’t wait to cheer them on through the rest of the season! 🏐🐴💙

Once a Mustang, Always a Mustang!

Our EC3 class learned about the Bible story, Jesus Welcomes the Children. We talked about how Jesus loves all children, welcomes them with open arms, and wants them to be close to him. On Tuesday, the children gathered together with their Mass buddies to honor Mother Mary's birthday. They learned that Mary is Jesus' loving mother and our heavenly mother who cares for us and helps lead us closer to Jesus. It was a special time of friendship, faith, and celebrating together.

Today, our country paused to honor and remember the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001. Though 9/11 is history to our students, many of us remember that day all too clearly.

This morning, over 100 students and their families attended the VFW Post 10209 9/11 ceremony. Our students contributed to the service by singing and helping present memorial wreaths.

Thank you to the VFW Post 10209 for inviting us to be part of this solemn tradition each year, and thank you to all our families who came out to show their support. 🇺🇸

🎉 This Week in Ms. K's VPK Class! 🎉

It might look like play, but SO much learning is happening! ✨

When you see your child building with blocks, they're developing spatial reasoning and early math skills. When they're playing dress-up, they're building language and social-emotional skills. At the water table, they're discovering science concepts like volume and cause-and-effect. Working on puzzle challenges builds critical thinking and perseverance. And shaving cream play? That's sensory exploration plus pre-writing skills!

VPK isn't just about preparing for kindergarten—it's about building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. And the best part, they don't even realize they're learning because they're having so much fun! 🌈

I'm so proud of our little learners and grateful to be part of their journey! 💙

The 7th grade students shared their summer activity, "Backyard Biome". Their challenge was to find 5 living organisms, find their common name, their genus & species, explain their identifying characteristics, and describe their habitat. The summer project was to introduce them to identifying organisms for their field guide project in Life Sciences.
