Here are TWO weeks of VPK FUN in Ms. Kortman’s class! 🤍🩶🩵

Our VPK friends have been busy learning, exploring, and having SO much fun! From hands-on centers to meeting Elmer the Glue Stick and his (top)hat 🎩, getting to know the hungry scissors ✂️, singing along to the “Tooty Ta” song 🎶, and exploring Brown Bear, Brown Bear and colors 🐻 - there’s been so much learning happening through play!

We love watching our littlest Manatees learn, grow, and have FUN every day!

👟🎨 Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes! 🎨👟

This week Ms. Arick’s PreK class read Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes and then brought the story to life with their very own Pete the Cat Paint Walk!

The students kicked off their shoes and used their feet to walk through the story, stepping into the different colors just like Pete! 🫐🍓🟤💦 As they made their way through the paint walk, they practiced retelling and sequencing the story, identifying colors, following directions, and making connections between the book and our activity.

Walking barefoot through the paint also gave the students a fun sensory experience, allowing them to explore new textures and sensations with their feet while working on body awareness and gross motor skills.

Learning can definitely get a little messy sometimes—and we wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️💙👣🎨
