🤟 When children learn different ways to communicate, they also learn different ways to connect.

On International Day of Sign Language, we're celebrating the many ways people connect, communicate, and belong.

Sign language is one of the many tools we introduce in our classrooms to help children build connections and learn about the world around them.

🍂 Happy First Day of Fall!

Crisp air, colorful leaves, pumpkin patches... and children stopping every three feet to investigate something on the ground. 😆

To celebrate the season, we've put together a Fall Family Bucket List filled with simple activities the whole family can enjoy.

💙 Save this post and see how many activities your family can check off before winter arrives!

🎒✨ Consider this our official back-to-school survey.

We asked children their favorite thing about school. Here were the results:

Breakfast: |
Lunch: ||
Gym: ||
Snack: |
Playground: ||
Sea Lion: |||

The responses were a reminder that the things children love most are often the simplest.

Here's to another year of discovery, growth, and plenty of reasons to smile. 💙

What a colorful spread🤩🌈

We recently supported the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive benefiting the Harford County Education Foundation with help from our corporate staff.

Together, we collected 202 school supplies to help local students start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

Read the blog to learn more about the drive and the impact these donations will have on children and families in our community: https://kiddieacademy.com/blog/corporate-social-responsibility/supporting-local-students-through-the-stuff-the-bus-school-supply-drive/

Our Academies had a grand ol' time celebrating Grandparents Day. 💙

The lessons children carry with them often come from more than the classroom. They come from family stories, shared traditions, words of encouragement, and the generations who help guide them along the way.

Thank you to all the grandparents whose love and legacy continue to shape tomorrow's confident, caring, and curious learners. ✨

Art that makes a difference? We'd bid on that.

Kiddie Academy of Urbana raised $2,500 for Blessings in a Backpack – Frederick Chapter during its sixth annual Children’s Art Show & Charity Auction on Saturday, with an additional $1,500 committed through silent auction bids.

The funds will support Blessings in a Backpack’s efforts to ensure local children have access to nutritious meals outside the school week.

🎬 Preparing for the Netflix documentary exposing the truth about play-based learning.

The evidence is piling up:

🎭Endless creativity sparked by hours of running a pretend restaurant
🗣️Impressive negotiation skills developed through daily play
🤝Strong teamwork built one game at a time
💡Confident problem-solvers who tackle challenges with curiosity and persistence

Turns out, "just playing" is doing a lot more than it gets credit for.

At Kiddie Academy, our our Life Essentials® curriculum uses purposeful play to help children build confidence, creativity, communication skills, critical thinking, and more.

Being strong isn't just about muscles. It's about mindset. 💙

During the month of August, our Character Essentials theme is We Are Strong. The goal is to help children recognize their inner strengths and build character traits such as confidence, persistence, assertiveness, and bravery so they feel prepared for life’s future experiences.

This month, we've been celebrating all the ways children show their strength every day.

Strength shows up in more ways than we can count. Drop a 💪 if you've seen it firsthand.
