Students in Mrs. Renae Greene’s art classes have been exploring line, color, and shape through a fun and unique project called Soap Resist Spray Paintings.

Students began by creating colorful abstract paintings, then added drizzles of dish soap before covering their artwork with spray paint. After a gentle rinse, the soap washed away, revealing the original colors and designs underneath. The results were vibrant, one-of-a-kind works of art.

Mrs. Greene has also been putting her own artistic talents to work, bringing our new Ready to Launch vision to life with a creative wall design outside the SGI art room.

Creativity is taking off at SGI!

As part of York County Alliance for Learning - YCAL Manufacturing Week, SGAHS students recently toured Ecore International, a company focused on keeping rubber out of landfills by turning it into innovative flooring products.

Students toured the facility, learned more about the manufacturing process, and got a firsthand look at the different opportunities available in the manufacturing industry. They also learned about Ecore’s positive company culture and what it’s like to be part of their team.

Thank you to YCAL, Ecore, and SGAHS Counselor Mr. Fake for creating experiences like this to give our students a closer look at career opportunities in our community.

Spring Grove Elementary won the York Revolution Boomer’s Book Club Trophy by having the most bookmarks redeemed this summer, earning our students a super fun assembly celebration with Downtown!

Boomer’s Book Club encourages children to grow as readers while enjoying the fun of York Revolution baseball. We are proud of our students for spending part of their summer reading and building momentum for another great year of learning. Thank you to the York Revolution for making reading so much fun and to our teachers for continuing to encourage and inspire our students!

What is Dr. Kirkpatrick up to in the woodshop? She's been teaming up with our Pre-Apprenticeship Commercial and Industrial Trades class and Total Identity Solutions on a special project for this Thursday's Homecoming Parade that will have her car showing off some serious Rocket pride.

We can’t wait to see what she dreamed up and how our students and community partners helped bring her vision to life! Come out, celebrate our Rockets, and see Dr. Kirkpatrick’s finished project for yourself!
