🏈 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT | SPRING CREEK JUNIOR FOOTBALL 📣

This week we’re highlighting Spring Creek Junior Football, an organization helping local kids ages 5–14 grow through football and cheer.

Their mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and uplifting environment where student-athletes and coaches can grow both on and off the field. Through football and cheer, they work to help young athletes build character, develop self-esteem, and experience personal growth.

And it takes a community of volunteers to make it all happen! 💜

Spring Creek Junior Football is always looking for help with:
• Field setup
• Reffing
• Scoreboard
• Serving on the Board

Whether you can help for a game here and there or want to become more involved, there’s a place for you.

ROAD CREW UPDATE | SEPTEMBER 16

Here’s where SCA Roads crews are working today:

Dura 1: Working throughout the 400s, patching potholes, road edges, and alligator cracking as found and needed.

Mower: Working in the 100s along the exterior roadways around the Parkway, moving from the Greencrest area toward Lawndale Dr.

Broom 1: Working in the 400s on Sumac Dr., Scrub Oak Dr., and Royal Oak Ct., sweeping roadways, edges, and intersections as needed.

Water Truck: Working in the 400s ahead of Broom 1 for dust suppression.

Trucks 25 & 29: Hauling excess chip material from the Marina overflow parking lot to the new chip pad at the Horse Palace by this afternoon.

Please use caution around crews and equipment while work is underway.

💜 THANK YOU, JUST SERVE IN SPRING CREEK! 💜

What an incredible turnout for the Just Serve 9/11 Day of Service projects in our community!

At the Spring Creek Sports Complex, 22 volunteers donated a combined 55 hours of service, painting the fencing from the main entrance to the main exit and tackling weeds throughout the fields.

At the Marina, approximately 25 volunteers contributed another 62 hours, painting the front fence and helping spruce up one of our favorite community spaces.

That’s nearly 50 volunteers and 117 hours of service given back to Spring Creek in just one morning! 👏

A huge thank you to Just Serve for organizing these opportunities and to every person who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and helped make a difference. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and care you gave to our community.💜

Old Timey Ice Cream and Utah based nonprofit Presidio Promises will host a launch party for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library on September 25th from 4-8pm at the Horse Palace, 670 Bronco Drive. All proceeds collected at the launch party will benefit the Imagination Library.

The Spring Creek High School Homecoming Parade is THIS FRIDAY at 11:00 AM, and we want to see Spring Creek completely decked out in PURPLE, SILVER & BLACK!

📣 Parade Route: From Little Ridley’s, down Spring Creek Parkway, to the Marina entrance
⏰ Parade Starts: 11:00 AM
🎉 Pep Rally: At the Marina immediately following the parade

Line the parkway, wear your Spartan gear, decorate your cars, and dress up your homes in school colors. Let’s make sure our students can SEE how much their community is behind them!

💡 DID YOU KNOW? | Accessory Structures

Thinking about adding a shed, garage, storage building, greenhouse, or another accessory structure to your Spring Creek property?

Before you purchase, build, or install one, plans need to be submitted to the Spring Creek Association for approval similar to what you would do in the City or County. We know that can sometimes feel like just another step in the process, so we wanted to explain a little more about why these requirements are in place.

Accessory structure and setback requirements have been part of Spring Creek’s governing rules for many years. Like other HOA communities, Spring Creek has established property standards that homeowners agree to follow when purchasing property within the Association. These standards are intended to help protect individual property owners as well as the community as a whole.

🏡 Why do setbacks and spacing matter?

Setbacks help make sure structures are built within the correct property boundaries and provide appropriate space between neighboring properties and buildings. This can help prevent disputes with neighbors and avoid issues that may come up when a property is eventually sold. Proper spacing between structures can also be important for fire safety and emergency access. Setbacks can help maintain access to septic systems, utilities, easements and drainage areas, while also leaving appropriate room for maintenance around buildings which we help review. Having plans reviewed before construction can also identify potential issues before a homeowner has spent money purchasing a structure, pouring concrete or beginning construction. Fixing a location or setback on paper is much easier and usually much less expensive than moving a completed building later.

A few important things to know:

• Accessory structures require Association approval before construction or installation.
• Structures should complement the appearance of the home and property.
• Accessory structures are not permitted in front of the residence.
• Required property setbacks must be met unless a variance has been approved.
• Accessory structures must be at least 15 feet from other structures on the property.
• Plans should show the proposed location, dimensions, exterior design and materials, structural details, distances from property lines, and septic location when applicable.

🚫 What about shipping containers or connex boxes?

Shipping containers, connex boxes, sea containers, semi-trailers, delivery containers, and similar portable storage containers are not permitted for permanent storage on residential properties. We understand they may occasionally be useful during a move or construction project, so please contact the Association if you have questions about a temporary situation.

Already have a shed or accessory structure and aren’t sure whether it was approved? Please feel free to stop by the SCA office and ask to have your property file reviewed. We’re happy to look into it with you, explain what documentation or approvals may be needed, and help with the next steps.

The best time to ask questions is before purchasing materials or beginning construction. A quick conversation ahead of time can help prevent property-line issues, unexpected expenses, delays, or changes later.
