What if strong academics didn’t have to mean more worksheets, a longer school day, or homework every night? 💙
At Legacy Foundations Academy, children build strong academic foundations in ways they can see, touch, discuss, practice, and truly understand.
In phonics, we use explicit UFLI instruction to build decoding and encoding skills through direct teaching, visual and auditory practice, and immediate feedback.
In math, students don’t simply memorize that ten ones make a ten. They build it. They bundle it. They take it apart. They count forward and backward and use what they can see and touch to understand place value.
In reading and knowledge-building, our study of habitats has taken us from deserts and forests into the tropical rainforest, strengthening comprehension while naturally connecting reading, science, and the world around us.
In science, students have investigated seed dispersal, explored inherited traits, and continued asking questions about how plants grow and interact with their environments.
The activities are engaging, but the goal isn’t entertainment. The goal is understanding.
And this is where a class intentionally limited to seven students changes what is possible.
I can see what each child understands while we are learning. I can notice when something hasn’t clicked, slow down, teach it another way, or give more practice before frustration grows. And when a student is ready for more, we can keep going.
Strong academics. A developmentally appropriate school day. A teacher who has time to notice. And evenings that can still belong to family.
Small class. Strong foundation. Big future.
