As we look towards Welcome Weekend, you'll see we have begun construction for various landscaping projects this summer that will continue into the fall and the coming year. This work is part of a larger effort to strengthen the heart of campus with a more beautiful, functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests.
One of the changes that is currently in motion is in the area of the Centennial Garden, lawn, and sidewalks by the McKenna Carillon Clocktower. Sidewalks are being replaced in a new configuration to connect the Centennial Garden with the plaza. To help make this change possible, the old University Advancement building will be removed.
In preparation for the continued modernization of the Whiteman Gibbs Science Center later this fall, multiple houses on Ogle Avenue have been removed and relocated to off-site locations.
We apologize for the disruption and additional noise that these projects will cause for students, faculty, staff, and guests. Access to all buildings will remain open during this time.
We look forward to the completion of these changes for our SAU community!
