Courtland FFA Officer Leadership Retreat 2026-2027!

The theme for Courtland FFA this year is “Rooting for Your Future- Helping FFA members grow healthy roots for a strong future!”

Unfortunately not all officers could make it, but it was still a busy day of planning, leadership, and fun!

🚨 FINALIST ALERT🚨

Congratulations to Julia on being selected as a finalist for the Virginia Farm Bureau Young Farmers Outstanding Young Agriculturalist Contest! Julia will compete at the Young Farmers Summer Expo in Tappahannock in July. Way to go Julia!!

At the 5th and Final Session of the 100th Annual Virginia FFA State Convention so much happened!

🏅Ian placed 4️⃣th in the state in the Farm Bureau Youth Discussion Meet
🏅Maya placed 7️⃣th in the state in Environmental and Natural Resources
🥉Finn placed 3️⃣rd in the state in Environmental and Natural Resources
🥇Julia placed 1️⃣st in the state in Environmental and Natural Resources
🥈Our Environmental and Natural Resources team placed 2nd overall in the state
📔 Our Scrapbook received a bronze placing
💙Franco was announced as Virginia’s National FFA Officer Candidate

We also welcomed in a new officer team and said goodbye to the old one.

Day 3️⃣ of the 100th Annual Virginia FFA State Convention.

🗣️ Ian and Mya competed in the Youth Farm Bureau Discussion meet with Ian making it to the finial 4! (We will find out how he placed tomorrow morning)
🌎 The Environmental and Natural Resources team competed in the top 4 and will find out how they place tomorrow.
📃 Members attended the Career expo and spoke with many business partners

During the 4th Session

🌾 We listened to the Virginia Secretary of Agriculture, Katie Frazier
🏛️ We also got to hear from Governor Abigail Spanberger
🥹 We got to hear a retiring address from our own Franco Abud, Virginia FFA State Vice President.
🏅Eight Courtland FFA members, Drake, Austin, Kaitlyn, Finn, Rachael, Julia, Lori, and Anja were awarded their state degrees.

One more session tomorrow morning to
end the week!

📃 Mya competed in the Employment Skills contest
🌎 Our Environmental and Natural Resources team competed and made it to day 2 of the contest

Students also attended workshops throughout the day and the talent show!
