Join us Thursday, March 26th, 2026 @ 12:30pm CT for Inside Impact hosted by Educational Excellence Committee. The topic will be: The Arts & Humanities Jury will explain the purpose of their committee, outline the process for submitting artistic works for recognition. Illinois Women in the Arts Chair Kathy Betke will highlight the details of organizing a state art retreat. International EEC Chair Daphne Cagle will remind participants how state organizations can take part in supporting CITYarts and contribute to this meaningful project. Can’t wait to see everyone there!

We are pleased to have Lisa Olson, DKG International NW Regional Director, attending our Spring Convention April 24-26, 2026, and hope that you will join us too! Lisa is a lifelong North Dakota resident, belongs to Nu Chapter in Minot, ND.
Lisa’s educational career included time as a classroom teacher, a special education teacher and Dean of Students. “Making a difference” is Lisa’s mantra. Outside of education, she has
served 15 years on the city council in Minot, ND, serving as both council vice president and president. Along with her elected office, she has been involved in projects or committees that have focused on economic development, technical education, employee retention, equal representation and disaster recovery.

Education is a challenging career, and retaining quality teachers is a common issue worldwide. According to Richard Ingersoll, the rate in the U.S. of beginning teachers leaving the profession in the first year is a little more than 10%; with 33% leaving by Year 3, and 46% by Year 5. You can change these statistics by supporting early career educators in their journey! One way to start making a difference is to get a list of new teachers/educators from your local school district or a list of student teachers in your area to support.
