North Central High School NCHS - 4 yr public HS in Spokane, with a 95% grad rate. 1500 students in grades 9-12 and 180 in the Institute of Science and Technology for 6-8 graders.

Page Guidelines

The Spokane Public Schools page is overseen by the Spokane Public Schools Community Relations Department. The goal of this page is to share as much as possible about the achievements of our employees, students, and school community, as well as to broadcast relevant and timely information about SPS. While we strive to engage in an open and respectful dialogue, all posting

of comments on this page are at the discretion of the page administrators. The intent of this policy isn't to keep any negative or critical information from being posted, but to impose reasonable guidelines to ensure the comments remain on-topic and are beneficial to the school community. The below-stated guidelines will be applied in an even and fair manner, and comments that violate these guidelines (even in part) will be removed in their entirety regardless of the viewpoint expressed in the comment. We welcome your comments and look forward to what you have to say. However, we will remove postings that:
• Contain comments not topically related to the particular post being commented upon;
• Posts and comments that promote or advertise commercial services, entities or products except as stipulated in the School District’s marketing plans and determined by the School District to be essential to economic development;
• Political statements that assist a campaign for election of any person to any office or for the promotion of or opposition to any ballot proposition;
• Posts and comments that promote, foster or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of age, s*x, marital status, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability, s*xual orientation including gender expression or gender identity, or honorably discharged veteran or military status;
• Posts and comments that include vulgar, offensive, threatening or harassing language, personal attacks;
• Obscene or s*xual content or links to obscene or s*xual content;
• Illegal activity or encouragement of illegal activity;
• Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems;
• Comments from children under 13 cannot be posted in order to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. By posting on the School District’s social media site, users acknowledge that they are at least 13 years old. Those 12 years old or younger may e‐mail the School District instead;
• Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party; or
Spokane Public Schools reserves the right to remove posted content that does not comply with these guidelines. All posts and comments uploaded to School District’s Social Media sites that allow posts will be periodically reviewed. All posts and comments are public records subject to public disclosure under the Public Records Act. Communications made through Spokane Public Schools Social Media sites in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to Spokane Public Schools. (For example, a post or comment that asks for public records will not be considered a public records request under RCW 42.56.) To comment about a specific city project or program, please contact the appropriate department. This is a happy place, dedicated to the Spokane Public Schools community. Let's keep the conversation positive and related to SPS. Page administrators reserve the right to not post or remove comments that violate the above-stated guidelines at any time. Page administrators also reserve the right to ban users from posting comments on the SPS’s social media website for repeated violations of the above-stated guidelines...but we hope that won't ever be necessary. COME TOGETHER: Hundreds of representatives from dozens of organizations gathered at Shadle Park High School this morning with a single goal: supporting families impacted by the Spokane Complex Wildfires.

Spokane Public Schools superintendent Adam Swinyard and Innovia Foundation CEO Shelly O'Quinn convened the assembly of government agencies, nonprofit organizations, faith community leaders, health care providers, educators and many other entities engaged in fire recovery efforts.

FREE DAY CAMP EXTENDED: The free emergency drop-in camp for children ages 4 and older at Shadle Park High School (4327 N. Ash St.) will be available every day this week, Aug. 3-7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is intended to give parents and caregivers impacted by wildfires a safe place for their children while they take a break, run errands, or address other immediate needs. Children do not need to be enrolled in Spokane Public Schools or live within SPS boundaries to attend.

Lunch will be provided at noon through the federal free summer meals program. Activities will be supervised by Spokane Public Schools staff. Families can also access a clothing closet and connect with resources like HEART and CHAS Health.
