It’s National Retro Day, so here’s a throwback.
Fun fact: I wasn’t born knowing math.
I remember being frustrated, stuck, and having to work through concepts step by step — just like my students do now.
The difference wasn’t talent.
It was having things explained clearly.
That’s something I try to bring to every tutoring session — patience, clarity, and structure.
Math isn’t about being naturally gifted.
It’s about learning it the right way.
If your student feels stuck, I get it.
I’ve been there too.

Math struggles don’t disappear just because we grow up.
Many adults and GED students tell me:
• “I’ve always been bad at math”
• “School didn’t explain it the way I needed”
• “I’m nervous to start again”
Here’s the truth:
You’re not bad at math — you just haven’t been taught your way yet.
I work with adults at all levels to rebuild skills, confidence, and independence.
📩 If you’re returning to math after years away, I’d love to help.

When a student freezes on homework, it’s rarely because they “weren’t paying attention.”
Most of the time, it’s because:
• They don’t know where to start
• They don’t trust their thinking
• They’re afraid of being wrong
In tutoring, students learn a repeatable process:
1️⃣ What do I know?
2️⃣ What’s being asked?
3️⃣ What strategy fits here?
Once students have a plan, confidence follows.
📩 If homework time feels overwhelming, tutoring can help more than you think.

Parents — this is important:
You do not have to know the math to support your student.
Support looks like:
• Noticing frustration early
• Asking for help before grades drop
• Giving your student a safe place to learn
Waiting too long often turns small gaps into big problems. Tutoring is not a punishment or a last resort. It’s a proactive tool — just like glasses help vision, tutoring helps clarity.
If you’re wondering whether tutoring would help, message me. A short conversation can save months of stress.

Tutoring doesn’t just improve grades — it fixes the experience of math.
Most students don’t fail math because they’re incapable.
They struggle because:
• Gaps were never addressed
• Concepts moved too fast
• They didn’t feel safe asking questions
Over time, that creates anxiety and self-doubt.
In tutoring, we slow things down, rebuild foundations, and focus on thinking, not memorizing.
When students understand what they’re doing:
✔ Confidence grows
✔ Homework stress drops
✔ Tests become less intimidating
That shift matters — academically and emotionally.
📩 If math has become a source of stress in your home, let’s talk.

📻 You may hear my voice on the radio this week — but what I do goes way deeper than a 30-second spot.
Tutoring is not about shortcuts or memorizing steps.
It’s about:
• Understanding why math works
• Building confidence instead of anxiety
• Giving students space to ask questions without judgment
• Creating a plan that actually fits the student
Whether your student is struggling, feeling stuck, or just needs extra support — help now prevents stress later.

Math struggles don’t mean a student isn’t capable — they usually mean they need the right support.
I’m proud of the growth I get to see during tutoring sessions and thankful for the kind words from people along the way.

Parents: If homework time feels like a battle, try this — set a 10-minute timer. Kids focus WAY better in small bursts. Especially when using little rewards for hard focus during that time. I use one sour patch kid for each segment.

I’m opening up January tutoring spots now! If your student could use a confidence boost heading into the new semester — whether it’s fractions, algebra, GED prep, or just staying on track — I’d love to help.
Feel free to send me a DM with any questions or to reserve a spot!
