I've always been fascinated by transport puzzles - ones where you move things around to achieve a goal. Combining both intellectual and physical activity makes these puzzles particularly engaging.

Consider puzzles based on trains: Can two trains pass if they are both longer than the available siding? What if the siding is very short? How can you reverse the order of a train's cars? What about sorting cars into a particular order, to make it easy to drop them off at various destinations? And so on….

I've based the Rings app on train puzzles. Think of the rings as train cars. The goal is to slide the rings to the matching positions. It looks easy. It gets hard. I've included 32 puzzles, for ages 7 to adult. Rings is now available on iPad, iPhone, and Mac.

I'd love to hear what you think of it.

I've been fascinated with peg-jump puzzles since I was a kid. Deep down inside these puzzles, there's some wonderful discrete mathematics - and it's pretty easy to grasp.

I'm itching to explain two or three key insights, but it will be much more satisfying to discover them yourself.

So I've created a series of 30 puzzles called Pegs. If I've done my job well, you'll catch on as you solve harder and harder puzzles. I've provided some subtle hints, guide rails, and coaching. By level 30 it's likely you'll be able to solve the classic Peg Solitaire puzzle.

Pegs is for all ages (say 7 and up), and is available on iPhone, iPad, and starting today on Mac! I hope that you and your kids and grandkids will enjoy it.

Inch Worm is now available on Mac! Kids develop problem-solving skills by facing challenges, getting stuck, struggling a bit, then finding the solution. A little giggling always helps.

This looks like great fun...

Inch Worm is FREE for a limited time. We know everything is weird right now, and we'd like to help your elementary school kids practice their problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Wow! It's amazing to be ranked between LEGO Ninjago and Toca Hair Salon. These are the top paid apps for ages 7-9 in the Czech Republic. Love it.
