We had the pleasure of welcoming this group of Japanese Junior High students to Northwest Flight Service last week.

The students are visiting Spokane as part of a two-week Global Science program with a focus on space and aviation. During their visit, we had the opportunity to show them around our facility, introduce them to some of our aircraft, and share a little about aviation and flight training.

It was great to see their enthusiasm and curiosity, and we really enjoyed being a small part of their experience here in Spokane.

Thanks to Mukogawa U.S. Campus for including us in such a unique program!

As our city and surrounding communities continue to face the devastating impact of local wildfires, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected. We know many families have been forced to evacuate, and countless firefighters, first responders, and support crews are working around the clock to protect lives, homes, and our communities.

Watching this fire attack helicopter depart from Felts Field into the smoky skies is a reminder of the vital role aviation plays during times like these. Behind every flight is a dedicated team of pilots, mechanics, dispatchers, and ground personnel working together to support the firefighting effort.

We're especially grateful to the men and women who have traveled from near and far to help, and we're humbled to know that some of the pilots who have trained with us are now using their skills to support wildfire response here in the Inland Northwest and across the country.

To everyone on the front lines, thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to protecting others. Stay safe. Our entire community is grateful for all that you do. ❤️

It was a privilege for all of us at Northwest Flight Service to host the presentation of the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award honoring our friend and former flight instructor, Rick Webber.

The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award is one of the FAA's highest honors, recognizing pilots who have demonstrated 50 or more years of safe flying, professionalism, and contributions to aviation.

Rick has made a lasting impact on countless pilots throughout his aviation career. As one of our former flight instructors, he helped inspire and train many students who have gone on to enjoy flying for recreation and as professional pilots. His passion for aviation and commitment to excellence continue to leave a legacy.

Congratulations, Rick, on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your many years of service to the aviation community and for inspiring generations of pilots. We're grateful to have been a small part of your journey.
