The NNRI presents factual information on the utilization and economic
importance of our natural resource industries by providing to program
participants information to make informed decisions on the management of
the use of our resources. Positive environmental protection measures being
implemented are featured in all of the NNRI's prograns for teachers and students.

Our first fall student program is in the books. We had an amazing Water Festival at the Doris Morrison Learning Center and educated more than 350 regional 5th graders about the importance of water and water resources in their daily lives. Thank you to Avista for your continued support of this program and to all the volunteers who spent two days with us. You are all amazing!!

We’re holding our Farm Fair program for regional 4th and 5th graders teaching them about agriculture and how important it is to Washington State. At the end of today, we will have reached more than 1200 students. WOW!! Thank you to all our incredible volunteers who support this important program for our students, teachers and parents!

We just spent a great two days holding our Water Festival at Liberty Lake County Park!! 500 regional 5th graders and teachers had so much fun doing hands-on interactive lessons on water and water resources. Thank you Avista for your support of NNRI’s Water Festival!

Another successful teacher workshop was completed this week in Mount Vernon. On the first day, teachers received curriculum from Project Learning Tree and Project WET. They then spent the second day learning all about agriculture in Washington state. Thank you to all of our amazing supporters who make it possible for us to provide these educational opportunities.

Day two of our three-day workshop on natural resources found teachers spending the day learning about agriculture. This included making bread in a bag! Thank you to Washington Grain Commission, Boise Cascade, the Washington Wheat Foundation and AgWest Farm Credit for making this workshop happen!!
