Good morning from Little Scholars West! ☀️

We’re excited to invite you to our Open House on June 23rd as we celebrate a special milestone, many of our sweet toddlers are graduating and moving on to preschool! While we will miss them dearly, we feel so privileged to have been part of their early journey and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow and thrive.

As we say goodbye to some of our little scholars, we’re also excited to welcome new families into our community!

A few things that make Little Scholars West unique:
• We have two classrooms Infant and Toddler allowing for a close-knit, nurturing environment
• Our team is made up of 6 dedicated staff who truly know and support each child
• With smaller class sizes, we spend more time outdoors exploring art, science, sensory play, music, and early academics
• We intentionally incorporate Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, especially supporting our naturalist learners through hands on outdoor experiences

We are excited and proud to announce Ms. Jamie our director at Little Scholars West was selected for the Childcare Champion Award.

Jamie came into this field right out of high school and chose to stay. She chose children. She chose families. She chose the long days, the hard conversations, the invisible labor, and the responsibility of shaping spaces where children feel safe, seen, and capable. Fourteen years later, her commitment has never wavered.

What Jamie brings to Little Scholars cannot be captured in a title alone. She leads with intention, steadiness, and care. She understands that this work is not just about classrooms or schedules—it’s about people. It’s about showing up when it’s hard, protecting the dignity of children and staff, and holding the vision even on the days when the weight is heavy.

Jamie has been a constant—someone who understands the why behind the work and carries it with grace. She doesn’t just believe in the mission of Little Scholars; she lives it every single day. Bringing it to life for families, students and staff.

This award feels right because Jamie represents the very best of early childhood education: dedication, heart, integrity, and purpose.

Little Scholars Development Center Little Scholars is a licensed childcare center in Spokane Washington. We provide extended hour childcare 5 days a week as well as a full preschool program.
