The cooler weather blowing in has us thinking about soup season, baking, orchard fruit, and the beginning of fall.

Join us as we host the September children's booth at the The Scale House Market for a little apple and harvest exploration. Children can dig into a sensory table filled with the cozy smells of fall banking, then spend time looking closely at apples through the artistic lens of Paul Cézanne, tinkering with oil pastels and mixing colors and shades.

Come explore, create, and enjoy a little early fall with us.

Still looking for something meaningful for your elementary child after the school bell rings?

Afternoon Studio is our Reggio-inspired after-school program for children in grades K–5, filled with hands-on STEM, art, inventing and tinkering, outdoor exploration, collaborative projects and plenty of real play.

Children have time to build, invent, create, follow their ideas and become part of a small afternoon community.

3:00–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
1–5 scheduled afternoons each week
2:30 early arrival available
Monthly tuition is based on your child’s scheduled days.

We’ve loved seeing the hundreds of buttons people have created at the Punk Rock Flea Market so far this weekend.

There’s something powerful about giving people of all ages an invitation to take a moment to be creative. Creativity is part of being human, and havi g spaces to experiment, share ideas, and make things alongside one another is essential! The Punk Rock Flea Market has been an amazing gathering space for creative, rebelious, alternative cool folks and were so excited to see you all here!

Come visit The Nest Community School today from 12–8 PM inside the old Rite Aid building and design your own FREE Punk Rock Flea Market button.

Education is Punk Rock!!

The Nest Community School will be hosting the children and family booth at the Spokane Punk Rock Flea Market! 112 N Howard St, Spokane, WA

Stop by to design your own Spokane Punk Rock Flea Market 2026 button or create a handmade zine to share a story, idea or message with your community. We cannot wait to make, print, draw and gather alongside you.

Diaper and Supply Drive:
As an early learning program, the work of PREPARES of Washington holds a special place in our hearts. Their care for pregnant parents, babies and families with young children reflects the kind of community support we believe every family deserves. We will be collecting donations through Catholic Charities and PREPARES to support families displaced by the fires and their day to day programming and community aid.

Most-needed donations include:
Diapers in sizes 4–6 (most especially size 4)
Pull-ups and wipes
Gently used clothing, newborn through 2T
Hygiene products for infants, children and adults

Children can explore fruits and vegetables through a colorful produce guessing game, fruit and veggie printmaking, and a garden sensory bin filled with hidden harvest treasures.

We’re enrolling now for a brand-new program at The Nest: Afternoon Studio!

Afternoon Studio is a Reggio-inspired enrichment community for children in grades K–5. It offers a welcoming tinker lab space where children can explore their interests through hands-on experiences, creative expression, and meaningful collaboration with peers.

Children might spend an afternoon woodworking, experimenting with robotics, creating art, cooking, putting on a play, building an invention, or organizing an elaborate outdoor game. Each day is shaped by curiosity, imagination, and the ideas children bring with them.

Key details:

Grades: K–5
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00–5:30 p.m.
Location: Sparrow House, 3324 S. Grand Boulevard
Flexible enrollment: Choose 1–5 consistent afternoons per week
A quick block away from Jefferson Elementary and Camp Adams at the old Jefferson Building
Optional early arrival at 2:30 p.m. (may be available)
