We've been busy finishing remodeling our master bathroom so I haven't posted about another song in a while. But we are in between projects a bit on our fixer upper, so here is a little insight into another.
My title track, Take Me Away, was composed by Shelby Neece. He asked if I could put vocals to it and I accepted the challenge. This song came together quickly and I was so happy with how it turned out. The instrumentals just begged for amazing harmonies. I even took my son to the studio when I recorded and he had the idea of adding the wind to the beginning. The lyrics wrote themselves as I listened to the music and this turned into one of my favorite songs on the album.

The first time my daughter heard "He Loved Her" she said, Mom? Is this a song about you and Dad?" Well, yes. I originally wrote this song 20 years ago in college. My husband and I had been together for 4 or 5 years already (I don't remember exactly when I wrote it) and married for a couple of those. When this project started coming to life, I brought it back out and revamped the 2nd and 3rd verses. It is my country song that tells a love story. I hope you like it.

Modern Problems was composed by Jeff Thornton and the boys at The Lounge Studios. They gave it to me to add vocals and lyrics. I think it turned out really fun! This song makes me think of Blondie. Its smooth and jazzy, yet funky. Enjoy!!

For those of you already following me, I am transitioning my page to include all of my music ventures. My first album is set to release on Jan 31st!!! Hi families, I know it's been a super long time since I've posted anything. Life keeps moving forward and after working 3 part time jobs this past year I decided to go full time. I am now bookkeeping and will be limiting my studio to a very few sporadic lessons. I will not be accepting new students. Thank you all for a great 8 years as being my main occupation. I'm looking forward to my next phase in life.

I'm going to advertise for a new piano teacher since I am full and can't take any more students at the moment. This gal is teaching our of Medical Lake and has a masters in Piano Performance. Her portfolio is impressive! She'd be great to learn from especially for more advanced people.
