We continue to recognize the bravery of our service members. Lt. Col. William Swenson honorably shares the story of the grit, spirit and heroism of his friends and comrades.

β€œOne of the proudest things that I get to do in the position that I have as a Medal of Honor recipient is I get to tell their stories, I get to tell their names, I get to say on Memorial Day that [my fellow soldiers and their names] are not forgotten, that their stories will never be forgotten as long as I can help it.”

Sports are about unity, character-building and leadership. Being a top athlete in your sport often makes you a role model, giving you the ability to impact people who watch you and/or look up to you.

Carson Pickett, a soccer player for the newly-formed Denver Summit, recently connected with a young fan named Hayden, who like Carson, lives with a limb difference.

β€œRole models make you think you can do anything, just like them,” 9-year-old Hayden said. Her parents say connecting with Carson has been life-changing and helped her discover increased confidence.

β€œFinding out that the journey is a lot less about myself and a lot more about the hearts I can touch along the way,” Carson shared.

Cyclist spreads joy at White Rock Lake 04/20/2026

More than 25 years ago, Dallas police officer Joe Chatham started the Empower Your Future program, which has transformed into a foundation to help kids embrace the power of perseverance.

Now retired, he’s expanded that sense of unity and connection to the host of people he encounters on his morning neighborhood bike rides. Joe’s two words of choice, β€œMorning Morning” are catching on and spreading joy and positivity. A great way to start the week.
