Some of our University of Washington School of Medicine - WWAMI students had the opportunity to visit the On Track Academy and engage with the Youth Wellness Zone.
A program initiated through the partnership of the UW CoLab and THEZONE, the Youth Wellness Zone is specifically meant to enlist young people in the community in helping define wellness, identifying areas for improvement, and innovating ways to directly improve individual mental wellbeing.
During their visit, our medical students listened to the youth discuss their concerns over va**ng and its growing popularity among teens today. There was some discussion in how healthcare physicians can be a better resource for youth struggling with substance abuse. It was truly an educational experience for all those that attended.
