After 18 years with West Valley School District and 10 years as Principal of Dishman Hills High School, Lauren will be leaving DHHS to begin a new chapter.

Lauren's impact on our students, staff, district, and communities across Washington State has been tremendous. Her dedication to empowering students and staff, improving systems and processes, implementing innovative programs, and building meaningful relationships has helped shape the culture and success of DHHS. While we are excited for Lauren's next opportunity, she will be greatly missed by our school community. We thank her for her years of leadership, service, and commitment to student success.

Sunshine, fresh air, and hands-on learning made for a great day! ☀️🌿

Our 9th grade Nature Studies/Biology students recently visited Mirabeau Park and the Spokane River to explore habitat fragmentation and river ecosystems firsthand. Getting out into the environment allowed students to observe ecological concepts in action, ask questions, collect observations, and deepen their understanding of how ecosystems function and connect.

Learning comes alive when students can experience science beyond the classroom walls!

An evening under the ✨ Starry Night ✨ — Prom 2026 at DHHS is complete!

Over 65 students danced, laughed, ate great food, and made memories together throughout the night. Seeing our kiddos feeling confident, celebrated, and joyful made all the hard work worth it.

A huge thank you to the DHHS parents, , @ , , , and Village for your generous prom donations. Because of your kindness and support, so many of our students were able to participate while feeling and looking absolutely fabulous! 💙

The creativity was flowing in the Digital Media classroom at Dishman Hills High School 🎨✨

Students put their skills to work by creating basic animations, bringing their ideas to life frame by frame. From concept to creation, it’s incredible to see their imagination and technical skills grow with each project.

We love watching our students explore new ways to tell stories and express themselves through digital media—this is just the beginning!

When two students were in need of new shoes, Soleful Steps Foundation stepped up without hesitation.

Founder Eugene is doing incredible work across Spokane—providing high-quality footwear to military families, young student-athletes, the unsheltered, and elderly members of our community.

It’s more than just shoes—it’s dignity, confidence, and care for people who need it most.

We’re so grateful to have organizations like Soleful Steps making a real difference right here at home. 👟💛

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend the Hagan Grant Award Ceremony last night alongside so many inspiring educators and community partners.

This winter, Dishman Hills High School was honored to receive a grant from the Hagan Grant Foundation to bring a Flex Farm hydroponics system into our classrooms. This student-led system has the capacity to grow up to 25 pounds of fresh produce every four weeks—right here at school.

At DHHS, we serve the largest HEART (Homeless Education and Resource Team) and unaccompanied student population in WVSD. This project is about more than growing food—it’s about growing opportunity. The Flex Farm has already sparked curiosity, empathy, and motivation among our students as they take ownership of the process and see the direct impact of their work.

The produce grown will support our Bite2Go pantry program, sponsored by / European + Little Euro, helping us provide fresh, healthy options alongside shelf-stable items for students who need it most.

A huge thank you to the Hagan Grant Foundation for investing in our students and our community. Your support is making a meaningful difference. 🌱
