National Apprenticeship Week highlight – Truly Elliot’s Story!

Truly is a 1st Year Electrician Apprentice, who grew up the daughter of an electrician. Her dad would take her to family day at his company, and women in the trades events where she got to participate in hands-on activities that fueled her interest in eventually becoming an electrician herself.

She attended the ANEW (Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Employment for Women) apprenticeship preparation program that opened her eyes to the realization of how tough things can be in construction, and how not to give up.

When she began her electrical apprenticeship, she was excited to discover how much there was to learn and that there were always more things to be curious about. She's not just using her mind though, she likes to work hard and get dirty too.

One project that Truly has worked on is installing a backup generator for a nuclear reactor. Truly’s journey is a reminder that registered apprenticeships can ignite passion and provide endless learning opportunities! #NAW2024 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #registeredapprenticeship @ibew73
