We keep groups small on purpose, creating a program where kids whoโve had a tough school year come in, slow down, and actually feel good about learning again.
Kโ8, three days a week, mornings and afternoons.

If you stopped and counted, the ratio might surprise you. Praise does something specific to a child's brain, and how you deliver it, when you say it, and what exactly you say, changes how your child responds to you. This blog walks through four specific approaches and what they actually look like at home.
How to Praise Your Child the Right Way
How to Praise Your Child the Right Way There's a quiet imbalance in most households that nobody talks about, and it has less to do with discipline and more to do with ratio. Think about a typical afternoon with your child. From the moment they walk through the door to when everyone sits down for din...

This is a pattern many parents quietly wrestle with. A child who can explain things in depth may still avoid writing, leave work unfinished, or get stuck on tasks that seem like they should be easy for them. The ability is there, but something in the process keeps getting in the way.
In my recent blog, I unpack why this happens, what these patterns often look like at home, and how to start making sense of where the real difficulty is.
If youโd like to explore it further, you can read the full blog below.

The Gifted Child Who Struggles at School. What's Really Happening and What Helps
The Gifted Child Who Struggles at School. What's Really Happening and What Helps Gifted kids are often expected to breeze through school. But that's not always the story parents are living at home. A gifted child may read far above grade level but avoid writing. They may grasp complex ideas quickly....

This time of year, a lot of parents are in that same spot. The school year is winding down, and summer is right around the corner. Some are hoping to help their child catch up after a difficult year. Others just want to keep the learning going so September does not feel like starting over. Both are completely valid reasons to be thinking about this right now.
Our ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ซ๐ข๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ is open again this year for students in Grades K through 8. Mornings are dedicated to literacy and mathematics, covering reading, writing, comprehension, and math concepts taught in ways that actually work for different kinds of learners. Then after lunch, the afternoon shifts into art, storytelling, creative play, and fun. It is a full day that gives children something to look forward to.
We run ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ, and we keep our groups small because every child deserves actual attention and not just a seat in a room. We welcome all kinds of learners, including children with learning differences.
If that sounds like something worth exploring, ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ญ 509-868-2676. We would love to hear about your child.

Weโre opening our ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ซ๐ข๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ again at ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ & ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ for Kโ8 students. Itโs a smaller, more structured setting with a steady routine: reading, writing, and math in the morning, followed by arts, crafts, storytelling, and outdoor play in the afternoon.
It tends to work well for kids who need more guidance, a calmer space, or a place where they wonโt get lost in the group.

๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ brings a welcome break from the pace of the school year. At the same time, it can also be when certain academic skills begin to lose consistency, especially for students who rely on structure to stay focused and organized.
Reading stamina, math fluency, and writing often require continued practice to remain steady. Without it, the transition back to school in August can feel more difficult than expected.
We created a practical guide for families who would like to take a thoughtful look at their childโs current progress and consider what kind of summer would best support them.

Summer tends to undo a lot of the progress students worked hard for during the school year. This program is meant to keep that momentum going, without it feeling like more school.
At ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ & ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ , our ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ซ๐ข๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ s a small-group setting where students (Kโ8) can strengthen reading, writing, and math skills in the morning, then shift into hands-on learning, creativity, and outdoor time in the afternoon. Itโs structured, but relaxed. Focused, but still enjoyable.
We keep groups intentionally small, so each student gets real attention, guidance, and support especially those who benefit from a more personalized approach to learning.
If youโve been thinking about extra support, summer is a good time to start. Spots are limited and tend to fill quietly each year.
If it feels like a good fit, you can reach out here or ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ 509-868-2676 ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ.

Some children struggle with math because they need more time or practice. Others are working through something less visible but more complex.
๐๐ฒ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ is not a single pattern of difficulty. It can affect how a child reads numbers, understands quantities, expresses mathematical ideas, or carries out calculations. This blog outlines six forms commonly described in research, offering a clearer way to see why math challenges can look so different from one student to another.
If this is something you have been noticing, you may find it helpful to read the full blog here.
