COME TOGETHER: Hundreds of representatives from dozens of organizations gathered at Shadle Park High School this morning with a single goal: supporting families impacted by the Spokane Complex Wildfires.

Spokane Public Schools superintendent Adam Swinyard and Innovia Foundation CEO Shelly O'Quinn convened the assembly of government agencies, nonprofit organizations, faith community leaders, health care providers, educators and many other entities engaged in fire recovery efforts.

FREE DAY CAMP EXTENDED: The free emergency drop-in camp for children ages 4 and older at Shadle Park High School (4327 N. Ash St.) will be available every day this week, Aug. 3-7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is intended to give parents and caregivers impacted by wildfires a safe place for their children while they take a break, run errands, or address other immediate needs. Children do not need to be enrolled in Spokane Public Schools or live within SPS boundaries to attend.

Lunch will be provided at noon through the federal free summer meals program. Activities will be supervised by Spokane Public Schools staff. Families can also access a clothing closet and connect with resources like HEART and CHAS Health.

FREE DAY CAMP: Spokane Public school is offering a free emergency drop-in camp for children ages 4 and older on Monday, Aug. 3, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Shadle Park High School.

LET’S MOVE: All Spokane Public Schools students in grades K-8 are invited to kick, set, pass, and hop at SYSA-Spokane Youth Sports Association Summer Camps!

Held at Bemiss Elementary, Cooper Elementary School, Regal Elementary, Stevens Elementary, Linwood Elementary School and Camp Adams, these sessions will help students enhance skills in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and speed & agility.

Three student-written stories are selected by the ELA department, and each is illustrated by students selected by students from Mrs. Neff's art classes. Last week the Boys Volleyball teams played against both the Garry Staff and also the 8th grade Girls Varsity team. This was the biggest turnout for Boys Volleyball we've seen yet!!! Mrs. Sargent, Ms. Neilko, and our team managers had a blast coaching the 28 boys who played this season. Way to go Garry boys, staff, and girls!!!
